Gentlemen:
I letter of February 9,1943 directing md to
Jamestown, New York for physical that
report to Dr. Frank Perry Goodwin,312 Avenue,
have your examination. Prendergast I feel
there is a definite misunderstanding in connection with
these instructions and I am writing for verification
of the necessity for me to travel to Jamestown,New York
a distance of 450 miles from the Butterfield Memorial
Hospital, Cold Spring, New York, Putnam County. Cold Spring,
New York is located on the direct line of the New York
Central Railroad, forty eight miles from Grand Central
Station, New York; New York.
I feel rather certain that it would be an unneeessary
New York State for the purpose of the examination re-
expense and loss of time to have to travel clear across
quested.
Please advise if arrangements for said examination
can not be made, if not with some one of our local phy-
sicians in Cold Spring, with some Doctor in New York
City. Awaiting your reply, I am,
