3. Identification
We are enclosing identification cards (Forms
928 and 932) which you will need, and also a statement over
Miss Beard's signature identifying you with the American Red
Cross-Harvard Field Hospital Unit in England. We advise that
you keep these three forms available at all times to present
for identification.
4. Advance for expenses
We are enclosing a check for $150 for
your advance money, and the record of travelers! checks which
you will return to this office as soon as you have converted
the check into travelers' checks. You will need to get some
English money before sailing, and will want to consult your
bank about this. The instructions are that not more than
ten pounds may be taken into Great Britain, and that during
the voyage passengers may use one pound or 10 shilling notes
but the purser is not permitted to accept notes of five pounds
or higher denomination.
5. Special identification
a. Please note on the confidential information sheet the
instructions as to identification disc which is to be
vouchered for.
b. Special identification card or certificate. This you
obtain by applying to the Troop Movement Officer at
the port of embarkation.
6. Vouchers
See instructions on confidential information sheet.
7. Passport
We are mailing this to you as soon as it is returned
to us from the British Embassy where it has been sent for visa.
To summarizes Please plan to have everything in readiness by July 25th,
but do not give up your position and remain on the alert from that time on,
until you receive word from us as to when to report to the port of embarkation.
If you make any change in your address or telephone number, addvise us at
once so that we will always be able to get in touch with you at a moment's
notice.
