INSURANCE NOTICE
Insurance Coverage for American Red Cross Personnel Assigned
to Stations Outside of the United States of America
Life Insurance
The American National Red Cross has taken out a Group Life Insurance
Policy with the Metropolitan. Life Insurance Company of New York, cover-
ing full time employees engaged in foreign war relief work outside of
the United States as determined by The American National Red Cross.
This insurance is effective as of the date of your departure from the
United States or, if employed abroad, then from the dato of such employ-
ment. On proof of death, or in the event of death resulting from
permanent total disability incurred in Red Cross service, $2000.00 is
payable to the beneficiary designated by you. Change of beneficiary
may take place at any time upon written notice by you on blanks which
the Red Cross will furnish. The Certificate of Insurance issued in
your name by the insurance company will be filed in your personnel
folder at National Headquarters unless we are instructed to deliver
it to some designated person in this country or to yourself. All
premiums will be paid by the American Red Cross without any expense to
you. Insurance coverage ceases on the date of the termination of your
employment as an employee of the American Red Cross engaged in foreign
war rolief operations outside of the United States. You have, however,
the privilege of obtaining an individual policy from the Metropolitan
Life Insurance Company, without evidence of insurability, at a promium
applicable to your attained ago, if you make application to the
Company within thirty-one days aftor the termination of your omployment.

Sickness and Accident Insurance
The American National Red Cross has also takon out a Group Sickness
and Accident Policy with The Travolers Insuranco Company at Hartford,
Connecticut, covering the same personnol as abovo described. Insurance
coverago is offective on the same datos a.s above indicated and
terminates upon your return to the United States or upon the tormination
of your employment as an omployee of the Amorican Red Cross engaged in
foroign war rolief operations outside the United States, whichever
first occurs. The Amorican Red Cross pays all premiums. Individual
Certificatos issued in your nome by the insurance company will be
retained in your per ornel folder at National Headquarters unless you
direct otherwise. Upon proof of loss submitted, the following
indemnities will be paid by the insurance company:
