Miss Anna L. Tittman,
State Capitol,
Springfield, III.
My doar Mise Tittman:
Your letter of inquiry in regard to the Red Cross
uniforms has recently been received and may I thank you for your
willingness to have these uniforms available. The Red Cross had
adopted the gray crepe as a permanent uniform but owing to the im-
possibility of securing sufficient crepe, it has been decided that
should there be a cell for servido, to allow the nurses to wear the
usual white uniforms worn by graduates. Low neck and short sleeves
will not be allowed. Caps, capes and brass-ards will be supplied by
the Red Cross, without charge. It is possible that we will hold these
crepe uniforms and issue them from this office to nurses assigned for
relief work. Will you kindly inform the nurses who have purchased the
uniforms or material that the Red Cross will refund the amount paid if
they will return the same to this office?
Challatan National Committee,
Red Cross Nursing Service.
