July 11, 1921. Miss Isabel L. Evans, Sec'y, Committee on Nursing, New York County Chapter, A.R.C., 598 Madison Avenue, New York City. My dear Miss Evans: May I thank you for your letter of July 8th, stating that the Committee have consented to Miss Rachel Torrance being used by the Red Cross for overseas service at the completion of her course. T am not quite certain whether we shall have an opportunity for Miss Torrance at that time, for I had not apprecia- ted when I first communicated with her that she had four months of practice work which she was anxious to complete in order to secure her certificate. In all probability we can utilize her services, and wa believe that it would be better for her to finish her course, with the hopes that she can be used in our overseas program at that time. I am writing to Miss Torrance to this effect, and also to Miss Hay, the representative of the Nursing Service in Turope. We appreciate very much the action of the Committee in releasing her from a years' Red Cross work in this country, to a possible years' Red Cross work overseas. Te should be very glad to lot you know hen we can use her. Yours very truly, N-K Director - Nursing Service.
