Miss Lyda Anderson,
1617 Railway Exchange Bldg.,
St. Louie, Mo.
My dear Miss Andersont
You probably know there has been some trouble about
Miss Ethel Trainor, badge #15337, and her assignment as
a manbhrabfithe Orthopedic Unit, Base Hospital 114.
Miss Trainor was definitely promised service with
the Orthopedic Unit in France. When her papers went to
the Surgeon General's Office she received a wire from the
Army Nurse Corps asking if she would accept service
temporarily in one of the cantonment hospitals. This she
refused to do and, therefore, has not been permitted to
go with Base Hospital 114 and has be en notifi ad. from the
Surgeon General's Office that she would not be given
foreign service.
We are reeding nurses badly in France as anesthetists
and surgical nurses. Miss Trainor states that she is
experienced in the giving of anesthetics. May I ask,
therefore, if you will have her investigated in your
division office for loyalty, sending her papers in at
your earliest convenience.
Very sincerely yours,
LM/A
