March 22, 1939 Miss Jessie J. Turnbull Magee Hospital Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania My dear Miss Turnbull: Under date of January 30th we sent you a letter of reappointment as a member of the Pennsylvania State Committee on Red Cross Nursing Service advising - you that Miss Gertrude Heatley was serving as Chairman of that Committee. We have just been informed by Mrs. Adelaide W. Pfromm that Miss Heatley finds it impossible to serve in this capacity and the State Association recommends your appointment as Chairman of the State Committee. It is our understanding that you are available for that service and we are pleased to send you this official letter of appointment to the office mentioned. Enclosed is a complete list of the membership of the State Committee as we are now carrying it in our files. Appreciating your interest and cooperation, I am Sincerely yours, Mary Beard Director, Nursing Service MR-rr
