My dear Miss Jessup:
Your application has recently boen forwarded to this office through
the Manhattan local committee, and your letter of July lst also recently
received.
I regret that you are not a registered murse, as this is a very definite
requirement for enrollment as a Red Cross nurse, and I do not feel justified
in making an exception to this regulation without authority from the National
Committee. May I suggest, howover, that at the earliest possible time you
take your examination and notify us that you have received your certifi-
cate of registration. Your application can be referred back to the local
committee for further action.
