May 21, 1920.
My dear Miss Noyes
On the evening of Miss Hay's departure for
Poland a letter was received from Miss ElsielM. Jessup. Miss
Hay hurriedly glanced over it and requested that the information
be transmitted to you:
"Through the letters I brought from the Salonica
office, the Atlantic Division are paying my salary
while I am ill and I believe I am to get $20. a week
insurance as well, all the time ux I am unfit for duty.
They did not know in the New York Office about the
increase of the nurses' salaries, but I left the notice
you sent me (as well as all the Head Nurses in the
Balkans) and they are going to see about my back salary."
You may have al ready received this advice
from Miss Johnson and approved of the arrangement.
Very truly yours.
(sgd) MARY H. BETHEL
