February 18, 1943 Miss Catherine J. Wilson 26 Hillborn Avenue Swarthmore, Pennsylvania My dear Miss Wilson: I am answering your letter of February 15 regarding army service. I know of no reason why your admission to the Army Nursing Corps would be affected by your marital status. However, any legal proceedings might be interrupted by your not being available after entering service, which may be of interest to you if you have already started proceedings. You are in the Third Service Command, the headquarters of which are in Baltimore. We are sending your Army card to Captain Alice D. Agnew, telling her that you are available for service. You will therefore hear from her about arrangements for appointment, phy- sical examination and so forth. lie are sending your card to the Army under the name of Catherine J. Wilson, but recording your marital status as "married." If you go into Philadelphia I would suggest that you see Miss Elizabeth L. O'Neill, Executive Secretary Local Committee, Red Cross Chapter Headquarters, 511 North Broad Street. Let me know if there is further information which we can give you. With all best wishes, Sincerely yours, Virginia M. Dunbar Assistant Director, Nursing Service D/GH
