Wrigley,\nSec'y, Pasadena Chapter, A.R.C.,\nPasadena, Calif.\nMy dear Miss Wrigley:\nI have today sent your papers to the\noffice of the Surgeon General stating that you will be a-\nvailable for duty about the middle or last of May and that\nyou desire an appointment as a Chief Nurse at Arcadia, near\nPasadena.\nIn order to secure an appointment as\na Chief Nurse you must be willing to enter the regular Army\nNurse Corps for the period of the war. It will be necessary\nfor you to take the examination of Chief Nurse which, I tel-\nieve, is very simple, based upon the Army Manual. We are\nrecommending quite a large number of nurses to the Surgeon\nGeneral's Office to act as Chief Nurses from the Red Cross\nand they all appear to be willing to take the examination\nand get into the regular corps. It unquestionably places\nthe individual in a more secure position.\nBelieve me as\nVery truly yours,\nDirector, Bureau of Field\nNursing Service.\nN:K"
