C. Limitation of World War I service
On October 27, 1919 the Committee on Awards voted:
That the service badges and buttons and the
service certificates awarded for service dur-
ing the war shall never be used again for any
purpose, thereby making such evidence of war
service for that purpose exclusive, and at the
same time a recognition that all workers are
equal, in so far as their abilities lie, when
working under the Red Cross.
