Extract taken from letter from Miss No yes to Miss Agnes Von Kurowsky, Haiti, dated Jan. 5, 1928. I was, indeed, distressed to hear of your illness, and also of the illness of Mrs. Lanone. Such misfortunes are very disturbing to any educational organization and I can well appreciate your discouragenent, as well as that of Mrs. Lanone, I sincerely hope that she will reconsider her resignation She wrote to me sometime ago, stating that she felt she would be oblidged to leave because she had not been well since her arrival. I urged her at that time to secure medical advice and do everything that she could to improve her physical condition not only because it would seem an unfortunate experience to her to leave, before completing her task, but also because of the extreme difficulty we are experiencing in securing nurses for work in Haiti. see letter filed 502.
