In 2016, President Obama received this wooden German Christmas Pyramid (Weihnachtspyramide) from Chancellor Angela Merkel. Christmas pyramids are a typical German holiday decoration made of a tiered outer frame with candle holders, along with a central carousel and rotor at the top which is driven by warm air from the lit candles.
