Charles of Me lourdy judge\nthe it Rememberrà,\nthe\n30\",\nday of September\nthe\nyear of our Lord one thousand That eight on hundred and sixty three Patrick Meagher Terry\nof Hoodbury\nin said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person,\nappeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdietion, and\nClerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said\nPatrick a Meagher then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention\nmade by him before the Superior Court for said sitchfille County\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \"An Act to\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject.\"\nApproved 14th of April, 1802, follows: & amendments + additions madi\nthen to. asfollows.\nSTATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nCOUNTY OF Ditchfula\nss.\nthe it Remembered, That on the\n14\nday\nof October\nA. D. 1850, before the\nisuperior\nCourt, within and for said County,\nhaving Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per-\nsonally\nL. S.\nappeared, Patrick Meaghur\nof Hoodbury born in Simerick bo Irilana in said\nCounty,\nwho\nwas\naged about\n27\nyears, and on oath did declare that\nit was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE\nUNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-\ntate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to\nVictoria Dueen\nof the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-\nof, I,\nH.L.D. Buman\nClerk of said Court, have hereunto set my\nhand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year afqresaid.\nwater\nJ.D.Buman\nClerk.\nAnd it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Patrick Meagher has resided\nwithin the United States five years at least,\nand in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years\nhe has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the\nUnited States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nbes\nAnd the said Patnek Meagher\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce\nand abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and\nparticularly to Victoria Queen\nof the United Kingdom of\nGreat Britain and Ireland, of whom the was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court,\nthat Patrick Meagher\nbe, and he was accordingly admitted\nto become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES."
