230 At Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 2 Tuesday of april in the year of our Lord one thousand eight has hundred and Thomas B Butter judge - the it That on the 16" day of april ti in the year of our, Lord one thousand eight hundred and only seven, Dohn Barrett of in said County of Litehfield, berng an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said your a Barrett then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before the Superior bount for sairhaunty, and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Selectful } ss. the it Remembered That on the 132 day of aml A. D. the Superior Court, within and for said County, having Common Law, jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally L. S. appeared, John Barntt of County, Setenful who born in Rurry los Irelandrail was aged about it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE 27 years, and on oath did declare that UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Dueen of the bf Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, - Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the ,day and year foresaid. buse and bas /pm Ransom Clerk.
