At a Subur 445 Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the Third Tuesday of Department in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy PRESENT-HON miles 0 Granger July the it Remembered, That on the 25th day of October in the year our one thousand hundred and of Valistury of Lord eight Seventy Ino Jumes Brown in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a eitizen of the United States. And the said games Brown then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before the blesk of said bourt and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Actte establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the aets heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, COUNTY OF Lirethfield } ss. the it Remembered, That on the 22 day of belited A. D. 1870 before the biss blesk of the Superior Court, within and for said County, Jasks having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- L.S. of Inlitting sonally appeared, games Brown in said County, who was born in Inland aged about 25 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria Queen of, I, tomL Ranson of the United Kilgdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of,the said Court, the day and year afgresaid. Wm S. Ruasour Dima Clerk. And within it the appearing United to States the satisfaction five years at of least, the Court, that said James Brown has resided aninali and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. CONSTITUTION And the said growes Arrow UNITED having declared on oath, that he would support. the OF THE STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of wifom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that James Brown be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES. odi lo nesilio
