22 At a Superior Court, holden at Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the 2 Tuesday of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and for by Sir PRESENT-HON John D Park judge the it Remembered, That on the 23 day of depenber the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty siy John O Briew of Joinggon in said County of Litehfield, being an alien and a free white person, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said OBBiew then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention made by him before this Court and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICUT, ss. COUNTY OF Litchfield the it Remembered, That on the 15th day of August A. D. 1854, before the Superior Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- sonally appeared, L. S. John @ Brien of Torington in said County, who was born in Topperary bo. buland aged about 35 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intentión to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to vectoria green of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where- of, I, FuakD.Bunaw Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. Freduck D Beeman Clerk. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said O.Brien resided within the United States five years at least, taxo) and in the State of Connectieut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the And the said O Briew having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to bectoria geen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, atsaid John OBview be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES.
