And the said rim Thalin then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention -made by him before This Court and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: STATE OF CONNECTICYT, } ss. COUNTY OF the it Remembered, That on the jth day of strumption A. D. 1830, before the Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, per- L. S. sonally appeared, for Thalis of in said County, who was born in England aged about By years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poteli- tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria firm of subject. In Testimony of, the I, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he Clerk is now of said a Court, have hereunto Where- set my hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. Clerk. within the United States five years at least, And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Sonia Than ovjl has resided and in the State of Connectient one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said frim Truckin having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject.
