of Litchpille
in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and a free white person,
appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Jurisdiction, and
a Clerk and Seal,) and applied to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said
Irhian Beel
then exhibited to the Court a Certificate of the declaration of intention
made by him before the Luperior beurt for Litch/ind
County the 1514 day of Feb." 1853
and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled An Act to
establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subjeet."
Approved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:

it was bona fide his intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE
UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Poten-
tate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and partienlarly to Vieteria
Seccer
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Where-
of, I, Ludench Lo. Burnau
Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my
hand, and Seal of the said Court, the day and year aforesaid. Bime lo lena bosd

And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said derbuce Bell has
resided
within the United States five years at least,

and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years
he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the
United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.
And the said rechance Bell
having declared on oath, that he would support
the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce
and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and
particularly to active seem
of the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he was before a subject. | It was therefore considered by the Court,
