86 Al a Court, holden al Litchfield, in and for the County of Litchfield, in the State of Connecticut, on the Tuesday of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sifty four PRESENT-HON. Duright Soomis Judge Be it Remembered, That on the 1-> day of November one eight hundred sifty four. beharles slater in the year of our Lord thousand and of bornwall in said County of Litchfield, being an alien and free white person, appeared in to be admitted to become a citizen of the United States. And the said open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having Common Law Charles Jurisdiction, and Slater a Clerk and Seal,) and applied then exhibited to the Court Certifiente-of the Declaration of intention made by him before and required no the according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled "An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalisation and to repeal the acts heretofore passed on that subject." Approved 14th of April, 1809 and the net passed subsequently theroto, to wit: about the Ifdey of july 18bs. he enlisted into the service of the United sufficient & satisfactory fro of that on or States in the 5n Rickment of Commecticyl Voluntees Company J. to serve for Three years. or during the war, that he performed saed service service by the ex piration of said three years, that impursuance witon the 220 day of fully 18b4 legally discharged from such ofthe acts of longress applicable there the said Charles Slater. is entitled lobe admitted whecome a Citisen of the Mrited States. Victoria Dueen ofthe United Kingdom of great Britain t Greland Prince, Potentiate state V Goverighty whatever, particularly to upon his renorming all allegiance ofidelity to every Foreign of whom he is a subject. And it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said Charles Blates has resided within the United States five years at least and in the State of Connecticut one year at least, and that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said Charles Slates having declared on oath, that he would support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria been of the United Kingdom of Great Britian. of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that said Charles be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a Citizen of the UNITED STATES. Clerk.
