THE PETITION OF Patrick Dillan
sof Heautford in the
County of Hartford respectfully showeth, that
he is a Foreigner, having been
born in I wand about D.1800
A.
That he is a subject

of Vitaria Ium of the United Kuy am of
That he emigrated to the United States A. D. 1834
That before the bounty Court, held at Hartford, within and for the County of Hartford,
on the of March
A. D. 1840
(said Court being a Court of record,
having Common Law jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal,) he declared, on oath, his intention to
become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any
Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Kitona
Lunn of the Uniten Kinguam of Bitam
of Inland
as by certificate, duly authenticated, ready in Court to be shown appedrs.
That he has resided in the United States three years next preceding his arriving at the age of
twenty-one years, which occurred on the
day of
A. D. 18
and has continued to reside therein to the present time ; and that for thiree years next preceding it
has been his bona fide intention, to become a citizen of the United States.
That he has resided during the last five years constantly in the United States, (including the
three years of his minority,) and during the last year in the State of Connecticut. That he has
behaved during said five years as à man of good moral 'character, attached to the principles of
the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the
same. Whereupon he prays your Honor to take his case into consideration, and on finding the
allegations true, to admit him to be a citizen of the United States, according to the Acts of Con-
gress in such case provided, as he in duty bound shall pray.
Dated at Hartford, March 30 A. D. 1842
