of Enfuld
in said County of Hartford, but late of the United
Kengdom of Great Britain and Ireland, appeared before the Superior
Court for said sandy County of Hartford, held at Hardfrod, in said County, on the
22 day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and 44
, the said Court being a Court of Record, having
Common Law jurisdiction and a Clerk; and Seal, and declared on oath in open
Court, that it was bonafide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and

to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentale, Stale,
