it Remembered, That Hugh Scollon
of
in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of
Great Britain and Ireland, appeared before the Country
Court for said County of Hartford
held at Hartford, in said County, on the Eight
day of April
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty Elight , the said Court being
a
Court of Record, having common Law jurisdiction, and a Clerk, and Seal, and declared on oath in open
Court, that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce
forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and
particularly to Victoria, guen
of the United Kindom of Great Britain and Ireland.
xn testimony whercof, I have hereunto set my hand
and affixed the Seal of said County
