TO Thz HONORABIE County
COURT, now sitting in Hartford, in and
Pfor Hartford County, Au 9 ust Term, A. D. 1039
The Petition of Christian Vensel of Berlin in the County of Heautforce
respectfully sheweth, that he is a Epreigner, having been born in the County of Schalback Indiruk
in Schwolbach, in the Year A. D. 1804 , that he is a subject of A William the
in Phussia
Prissia
King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Irchand That he emigrated to the United
States in A. D. 1814, that A before the County Court, held at Hartford, within and for the
County of Hartford, on the 4th Tuesday of March D. 835; to wit on the 7 th
day
April 1835 (said Court being: Court of Record, having Common Law, jurisdiction and a
Clerk and Seal) he declared on oath his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to re-.
nounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatev-
er, and particularly to said William the Fourth, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Ireland, as by certificate, duly authenticated, ready in Court to be shewn appears-that he has resided
during the last five years constantly, in the United States, and for the last year in the State of Connecti-
cut. That he has behaved during said five years as a man of good moral character, attached to the princi-
ples of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the
same. Whereupon he prays your Honors, to take his case into consideration, and on finding the facts
true, to admit him to be a citizen of the United States, according to the Acts of Congress in such case
provided, as he in duty bound shall pray.
Dated at Hartford, August 141 th, A. D. 1839.
