    "ocrText": "4\nSeptember A.D.1839\nHeartford in the state of Commutient on the form thousand the Tuesday\nAt a Suppiner bourt holden at Heartforre in for the County of\nof September in the year an of our Lord one\nlight hundred and thirty mine\nPresent M Waite, Indgr.\n2.\n1.\nBIS IT REMEMBERED That on the 27th day of September\nin th\nin the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine\nof Enfild\nin said County\nof I\nWilliam Roddy\nof Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris-\ndicti\ndiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And\nthe\nthe said William Roddy\nthen exhibited to the Court a certificate of the\nDec\nCounty of talford on the countray of August in the\nDeclaration of intention made by him before the County bourt in offer said\nyear form Lord our thousand light hundred &\nand\nthirty\nesta\nand required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled \" An Act to\nestablish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject.\" Ap-\npro'\nproved 14th of April, 1802, as follows:\n\"ST\n\"STATE OF CONNECTICUT,\nss.\nCOUNTY OF HARTFORD,\nB\nBe IT REMEMBERED, That William Roddy of Enfirld\nin said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain\nand\nand Ireland, appeared before the County\nCourt for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in\nsaid\nsaid County, on the with\nday of August\nin the year of our Lord\none\none thousand eight hundred and thirty swen\n(the said Court being a Court of Record,\nhavi\nhaving Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was\nbon:\nbona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and\nfide\nfidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nNetria Zeen\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.\nI1\nIn testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Country Court,\nthis\nthis ninth\nday\nof August\nin the year of our\nLor\nLord one thousand eight hundred and thirty shown\nPhilo A. Goodwin\nClerk.\"\nand\nand it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court,\nthat said William Roddy\nhas\nhas resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and\nthat\nthat during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the\nCor\nConstitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same.\nAnd the said William Roddy\nAnd\nhaving declared on oath, that he would support\nthe\nthe Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi-\nanc\nance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to\nVictoria Zunn\nKing of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\nof\nof whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that\nWilliam Boddy\nbe, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the\nUn\nUnited States."
