4 September A.D.1839 Heartford in the state of Commutient on the form thousand the Tuesday At a Suppiner bourt holden at Heartforre in for the County of of September in the year an of our Lord one light hundred and thirty mine Present M Waite, Indgr. 2. 1. BIS IT REMEMBERED That on the 27th day of September in th in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine of Enfild in said County of I William Roddy of Hartford, appeared in open Court, (the said Court being a Court of Record, having common Law juris- dicti diction, and a Clerk and seal,) and applied to be admitted and to become a citizen of the United States. And the the said William Roddy then exhibited to the Court a certificate of the Dec County of talford on the countray of August in the Declaration of intention made by him before the County bourt in offer said year form Lord our thousand light hundred & and thirty esta and required as the first condition according to the first section of the Act of Congress entitled " An Act to establish an uniform rule of Naturalization, and to repeal the Acts heretofore passed on that subject." Ap- pro' proved 14th of April, 1802, as follows: "ST "STATE OF CONNECTICUT, ss. COUNTY OF HARTFORD, B Be IT REMEMBERED, That William Roddy of Enfirld in said County of Hartford, but late of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and and Ireland, appeared before the County Court for said County of Hartford, held at Hartford in said said County, on the with day of August in the year of our Lord one one thousand eight hundred and thirty swen (the said Court being a Court of Record, havi having Common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and seal,) and declared on oath in open Court, that it was bon: bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fide fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Netria Zeen King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. I1 In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Country Court, this this ninth day of August in the year of our Lor Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty shown Philo A. Goodwin Clerk." and and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court, that said William Roddy has has resided within the United States five years at least, and in the State of Connecticut one year it least, and that that during said five years he has behaved as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Cor Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. And the said William Roddy And having declared on oath, that he would support the the Constitution of the United States, and that he did absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegi- anc ance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria Zunn King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of of whom he was before a subject. It was therefore considered by the Court, that William Boddy be, and he was accordingly admitted to become a citizen of the Un United States.
