BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the

A D. 188 2, before the City Court,
Dentrict
within and for said City, having Common Law jurisdiction,
with a Clerk and a Seal, personally appeared,
William Bartels
of
Waterbay
who was born in Germany aged about 29
years, and on oath did declare thatit was BONA FIDE his inten-
tion to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES,
and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and
Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Vietoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Brit-
=nin and Iroland, to William I. Emperor of Germany
of whom he is now a subject.
