385 STATE OF CONNECTICUT, Destrict SS. CITY OF BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 28 day of October Diabet A. D. 1882, before the City Court, Dialsid within and for said City, having Common Law jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, personally appeared, Thomas smith of Waterberry who was born in Scotland aged about 22 years, and on oath did declare thatit was BONA FIDE his inten- tion to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Brit- ain and Ireland, to William I. Emperor of Germany of whom he is now a subject. D.7 Wehr Clerk.
