396 STATE OF CONNECTIOUT, 9 ss. COUNTY OF NEW HAVEN: 11 BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 17th before me, Arthur D. Osforne, Clerk of day of May Superior A. D. 1867 the County Court, within and for said County, having Common Law jurisdiction with a Clerk, and a Seal, personally appeared, George Smethunst, of Bathany in said County, who was born in intention to become a CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES, and to renounce forever all allegiance and England aged about 29 years, and on oath did declare that it was bona fide his fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty, whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kjngdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject.--Ir TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I, Arthur D.
