D. 18.17.\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the\n28th\nday of\nMarch\nPatrick Butter of Nangatuck hi said Country\nin said year\nappeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made\nand this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said Datrick Butter is\napplication to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States in And upon examination first had, it being made to appear,\na free white male\nperson of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland,\n29\nyears, that was\nhe born in Ireland\nin said\nthat he is now of the age of\nKingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti-\ncut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral\ncharacter, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and\nthis Court that said Patrick Butter\ndid, pursuant\nhappiness of the same. It also appearing to\nto the laws of the United States, appear before the\n160mg a Sciris Clerkeif the City\nCourt within and for the City of New U aven 28th\non the\nday\nof February\nA. D. 1848, the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare\nthat it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever\nto every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom\nof Great Britain and Ireland,\nPatrick Butter\nnow here\nas by the Records of said Court appear. And the said\nin this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for-\neign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer-\nica. Wherefore the said Latrick Butter\nis hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared\nto be a Citizen of the United States of America.\nSTATE OF CONNECTIOUT,\nss.\nCOUNTY OF NEW HAVEN:\n14th\nBE IT REMEMBERED, That on the County\nday of\nOnly\nA. D. 18+9\nbefore the me 26 my a Services clerk A Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and\nSeal, personally appeared,\nPeter Kirkham\nof Waterbuy\nin said County, who was born in England\naged about\n31\nyears, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a\nOITIZEN OF THE 0 JITED STATES and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign\nPrince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great\nBritain and Ireland,\nof whom he is\nIn\nTestimony now a Whereof, subject.
