123 United States of Amerita, State of Connectiont, 59. At a Special County Court, holden County of New Haven, the 28" in and for the on day of March A. D. 18.17. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the 28th day of March Patrick Butter of Nangatuck hi said Country in said year appeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made and this Court having found to their satisfaction that the said Datrick Butter is application to said Court to become a Citizen of the United States in And upon examination first had, it being made to appear, a free white male person of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, 29 years, that was he born in Ireland in said that he is now of the age of Kingdom, that he has resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti- cut for more than one year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and this Court that said Patrick Butter did, pursuant happiness of the same. It also appearing to to the laws of the United States, appear before the 160mg a Sciris Clerkeif the City Court within and for the City of New U aven 28th on the day of February A. D. 1848, the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Patrick Butter now here as by the Records of said Court appear. And the said in this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for- eign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject, and he also declares on Oath, that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer- ica. Wherefore the said Latrick Butter is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared to be a Citizen of the United States of America. STATE OF CONNECTIOUT, ss. COUNTY OF NEW HAVEN: 14th BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the County day of Only A. D. 18+9 before the me 26 my a Services clerk A Court, within and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and Seal, personally appeared, Peter Kirkham of Waterbuy in said County, who was born in England aged about 31 years, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a OITIZEN OF THE 0 JITED STATES and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is In Testimony now a Whereof, subject. I, Henry 14 Sinis Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand and the Seal of said Court, the day and year aforesaid. Henry as Struis Clerk.
