161. United States of America, state of Connectiout, At a Special County Court, holden in and for the County of New Haven, on the 1st day of april A. D. 1850. 1st a BE IT REMEMVERED, That on the 2 John Welch of New 16 aven In said Country day of april in said ye appeared before said Court, the same being a Court of Record, with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and made application to said Court to become Citizen of the United States: And examination first had, it being made to appear, and this Court having found to their a satisfaction that the said Pohn upon Welch is a free white male person of lawful age, an alien and a subject of Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, that he is now of the age of 25 Irland years, that he was born in in said Kingdom, that heahas resided in the United States constantly for more than five years last past, and in said State of Connecti- cut for year last past, and that he has during all said time behaved himself as a good citizen, has a good moral character, and is attached to the principles of the Constitution of the Uni ed States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. It also appearing to this Court that said Lolm Welch did, pursuant to the laws of the United States, appear before the A. Junis Clerk if the Cet, Court within and for the City of New Heaven on the 30th day of March A. D. 1848 the same being a Court of Record with Common Law Jurisdiction, a Clerk and a Seal, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce all allegiance and fidelity forever to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Vietoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, John Wilch as by the Records of said Court appear. And the said now here in this Court declares on Oath, that he doth absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every for- eign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject, and that he will support the Constitution of the United States of Amer- ica. Wherefore the said Weach Oath, is hereby, by this Court, admitted and declared to be a Citizen of the United States of America. STATE OF CONNECTIOUT ss. COUNTY OF NEW HAVEN: BE IT REMEMBERED, That onnthe Clirk day of January A. D. 1857 , before the me Hemy Glurrs Court wyithin and for said County, having Common Law Jurisdiction, with a Clerk and a Seal, personally appeared, Bamuel Cave of Num "Heart in said County, who was born in aged about 45 Englased years, and on Oath did declare that it was bona fide his intention to become a OITIZEN OF THE U NITED STATES and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State and Sovereignty whatever-and particularly to Victoria, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, of whom he is now a subject. In Testimony Whereof, I, Moinny us, Seans Clerk of said Court, have hereunto set my hand and the Seal of said Court, the day and year foresaid. thesing h. Lewis Clerk.
