the United States for the District of Rhode Island, personally comes
Hugh Davis

Lincoln
and on oath makes declaration in the following words, to wit:
I do solemnly swear and declare that it is bona-fide my intention to become a citizen
of the United States of America, and to renounce forever all allegience and fidelity to any
foreign prince, potentate, state or sovereignty, and particularly to Victoria, Queen
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland
