but late of the Kingdom of Great Butain and Ireland rappeared before

the Court of Common Pleas for said County of New London, at norwich
in said County, on the

of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty- eight , the said
Court being a Court of
Record, having common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal, and declared on oath that it was
bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance
and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovereignty, whatever, and particularly to the
Government of Great Britain and Ireland
