but late of the Kingdom of Great Britain and trilantly
appeared before
the Court of Common Pleas for said County of New London, at New London

Record, having common Law Jurisdiction, and a Clerk and Seal, and declared on oath that it was
bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and to renounce forever all allegiance
and fidelity to any Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, or Sovergignty, whatever, and particularly to the
Government of Great Britain and Ireland.
