This file unit consists primarily of photographs taken of the assembly and installation of the Gooseberry and Mulberry artificial harbors constructed as part of the Normandy Invasion. There are also images of allied ships off the coast of Omaha Beach. In addition, there are photographs of the France combattante (Free French Forces) returning to Cherbourg and of American sailors using optical instruments.
