My dear Mr. President: I want to take this means as a citizen of the United States to commend you for your decision and firm stand in the Little Rock situation. I am certain you have received much criticism, but we know, too, that thousands of people praise you for your firm convictions even though many fail to let you hear from them. People in the teaching profession are drawn closer each year to face the realistic implications of integration. You can be sure that those of us in this locale breathed a big sigh of relief following your decision at Little Rock. It is disheartening to come to realize the inadequacy of leadership on the part of some of our governors. This inadequacy is clearly indicated in the attitude of defiance to the supreme laws of our land. We must hope that somehow they will come to realize that there are times when they must face realistically the subordinate implications of their position. Thanks for your tremendous leadership. God bless you. Very respectfully yours, John W. Armstrong Principal pb
