Dear Mr. President:
Today marks the including of Burlington,

We believe this service to be a conspicuous
forward step in the history of transportation.
In observation of the occasion we are
sending, via that service, Mrs. Roosevelt and yourself
packages of our Vermont Blue Ribbon Pure Maple Sugar
and trust that you may have as much pleasure in their

This book I expected to receive in time to send to you for your
Birthday, but unfortunately it did not arrive until today, however,
although somewhat belated I trust you will accept this little remembrance
of your birthday.
This family is still "rooting" as hard as ever for you and we
sincerely hope you will continue to enjoy good health so that you may
be able to continue to carry on your splendid humanitarian work.
I, personally, feel confident that despite all your enemies you
will win victoriously in next November. This, I can assure you is my
fervent prayer because I just hate to thank what willhappen to our
America if you are taken from the White House.

Namesake. Writer has about completed the first draft of a book which has for
its sole purpose to show the lack of interest of the party in power prior
to 1933, the determination of the. monied class to dip too deeply into the money
earned by the masses and to show in what manner this has been corrected since
1933 by one of the most sincerely interested leaders since George Washington.
Is anxious that the President read the first draft of the work. Shall be

Esteemed Sir:
Prompted by a true desire to serve, I humbly submit to you,
as a token of my respect, a blank book which I have had
prepared by one of the best book-binders in this country.
In it I hope you will find a place for such facts regarding
Economics as you might regard absolutely irrefutable.
Tucked into the covers of the book are two pamphlets, one
written by myself, which has been reprinted a good many
times in the last twelve months, and one the product of four
series of ten 3-hour conferences each, between a total of ap-
proximately 140 prominent Los Angeles professional and busi-
ness men with Thomas Nixon Carver, Professor Emeritus of
Political Economy of Harvard University.
The reading time of both pamphlets is short.
I realize that you are busy.
I hope that you will find time to read them.
Sincerely yours,
