April 6th, His Excellency, The President of the United States, White House, Washington, D.C. Dear Mr. President, Silver Eagle which we have recently received from We are herewith sending you a George III our London Office. This Eagle was made in the city of London, in the year, 1823. Although made over 100 years ago, this proud and powerful bird, even at that time, personi- fied the spirit of the American people to fight for whatever they cherish and hold dear. The Eagle as the national emblem of the United States and which represents its citizens, brings assurance of safety wherever it appears. It therefore occured to me, Mr. President, that as you are so symbolic of the aroused spirit of the American people, that you might care to use this bird as a paper weight on your desk. It would give me great pleasure in your accepting this gift. Best wishes for your health and a quick triumph of the forces of the United Nations to Victory, I have the honor to salute you, Yours faithfully, NB:PK enc.1 Bloom N.BLOOM & SON LTD.
