Excellency:
The children who are students of the Centro Superior Tecnologico
at Ceiba del Agua, Cuba, and who consist of the orphaned children of
laborers, clerks or members of the Armed Forces of the Republic who
died while at work or in service or from an illness contracted as a result
thereof, have - with great good will and artistry - made a leather table
cover* worked with the portrait of the mother of the enlightened President
of the United States of America, His Exellency Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The said cover was sent to this Embassy with the request that it
be forwarded to its high destination.
I have the honor to transmit the said cover to Your Excellency with
the request that you will be good enough to forward to His Excellency
the President this gift made to him by the pupils of the aforementioned
Centro Superior Technologico.
