In presenting to the American public the
"Victory Wallet" it is my hope to further the sale of
United States War Stamps and Bonds.
The wallet contains a War Stamp album de-
signed to be within easy reach at all times. It is
practical and should be a constant reminder of Victory
through the sale of Bonds.
I should be honored to have you accept the
enclosed personal wallet, which is offered in a spirit
of sincere appreciation of your very fine leadership in
our Country's war effort.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt,
9-D
President of the United States,
Attention of:
The White House,
Miss Grace G. Tully.

Secy.
Dear President Roosevelt:
I thought you would like to have the two maga-
zines which accompany this letter, under separate cover.
One of these magazines refers to the 1932 Campaign with
x144-a
Cartoons of yourself and Hoover. The rather sour express-
X#
ion on Mr. Hoover's face, brings to mind a comment that
was made in an earlier Campaign by a friend of mine, who
said, that he never saw a picture of him smiling. He
tried to remedy this later, but not very successfully.
In reference to the copy of Punch, I really
think it is a noteworthy event, when the Supreme Court
and our President, can break into a full-page illustra-
tion, in their staid and steadfast magazine, The London x x48-a
Punch. It may not be so amusing, but I thought you
would like to have it for your scrap book or files.
Very sincerely yours,

My Dear Mr. Early:
In the attached package you will find an actual
phtograph taken by a very good friend of mine, Mr. H.J.
Dollinger, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Mr. Dollinger has
made a hobby of studying western history and collecting
material and pictures illustrative of the western country.
Recently he sent me the enclosed picture requesting that
I see that it reached the President. In these busy times
I know that it would be difficult to present it to him
myself SO I am passing it along for your hands trust-

Should you care to, I am sure that Mr.Dollinger

One of my constituents has prepared
two very unique drawings of Mr. Roosevelt. He has asked
me to be good enough to present them to him.
The drawings are made on plywood,
and are first sketched in by crayon, and then burnt
into the wood, through the use of a magnifying glass
and the rays of the sun. They are then shellaced.
I should appreciate it if you would
let me know exactly when they may be presented to him,
and if they can be sent directly to the White House.

Dear President Roosevelt:
In appreciation of the great work you are
doing in these most difficult and trying times
and in recollection of your own and your mother's
love for these ancient Acadian coasts and the
cool waters that bathe them, I have the honor
to send you herewith the first copy of a book
I have been writing on the Origin and Background
of Acadia National Park.
The present publication, on the origin of
the Park, to be followed by others now in pre-
paration, takes us back to the first occupation
br
of these shores under a Commission given in 1603
by Henry IV to the Sieur de Monts, a Huguenot
and his follower in the Religious Wars, to
occupy and possess for France these yet unknown
and mysterious lands, whose name, Acadia, here
first appears in record.
With high respect, believe me

MEMORANDUM
October 24, 1941
SLCY. Hull's office phoned to a sk if the Pres. would
shake hands with Mr. Thomas J. Davis, Pres. of Rotary International, Butte, Montana.
Penciled Notation: "Mrs. Eben explained that when Tom Davis saw the President, he presented
him with a Gold Model of a Ship. One part was broken, SO it is now in the local jewelry
shop being repaired. It will go to Hyde Park Library with original of this memo. EB"
Letter to Miss Tully, from Treasury Department,
signed by Stanley W. Prenosil, dated July 9, 1942, endosing letter which was handed to
him by Captain R. Drace White, our Naval Attache in Lisbon. This letter dated 6/29/42 is
addressed to Mr. Early enclosing card of a gehtleman, Manual Santos Mendonca who along
with his wife is an ardent admirer of the President and when Elmer Davis was in Lisbon
some time ago, they sent to the President a fine old model of a Pertuguese Caravel, such
as were used in the worldwide discoveries in the 14th and early 15th ænturies, and they
never received any acknowledgment of this gift. Captain White thinks that it would be
hurt that they ree
a good idea to send these people a photograph of the President in as much as they feel
hurt that they received no acknowledgment of this gift and it would tend to found good
will to us in Lisbon.
Notation: "Answered by phone for the time being. GGT"
Another letter from Mr. Prenosil, dated 9/3/42, enclosing letter he received from Capt.
Drace White, which clears up the mystery of the missing ship model. Captain White states
that the model was entrusted to Thomas J. Davis, not -Imer Davis and asks for an auto-
graphed photograph for them. Ackd. 9/11/42.

Even Idaho potatoes are forecasting the shape of things to come-as
witness this V-for-Victory spud held by Frank Dickerson, Hagerman.
Dickerson mailed the victory potato today to President Roosevelt as a
