Do you re member an English teacher by the name of Carrye Johnson in the manchester, Georgia high school who use to have the pleasure and privilege of XPP7100 singing on various programs with you and for you in Georgia mainly in Meriveather County? The first time, d recall singing as a youngster "East-side, "trest-side" when you were in manchester campaigning for 'al Smith'. Then later as a young lady, different civic clubs (especially Kiwanis) gave me the honor of singing in Columbus, newnon, Manchester, Harm Springs, Greenville and for the White House Cress banquets and on other occasions. The last time, d talked with you was one Easter Sunday of 1939 when d sang two solos at the Warm Springs Foundation Chapel. mother and Dad gave the announcement party of my engagement to Doctor Cooper on Good Friday night at the manchester Community Hall and the following Sunday we attended your Casterservices at the "Little Chapel. you talked with my family some, and asked Doctor Cooper and me to visit you when we returned from our Hawaiian honey moon 2 O.h, yes, you said to see Bill Haskell and getin touch with you thru him. The 've never availed ourselves of your kind hospitality. I'm well aware of the fact that you are far too busy to give us any of your time at all, "for the duration, but d just must give you a "little report"of myself since last d saw you. Since our wedding on June /, 1939 God has blessed us with three little angels. Two boys, and a little girl four days old. The are so divinely happy, d just wanted you to know about it. I'm enclosing you the and little announcement we "worked up" for our babies. needless to say, d haven't done any singing, except "luldabies" since my marriage. However, if Ican become established as an entertainer enough to cheer the strained and sad dened hearts around us, d hope to resume my singing as soon as my health per- mits. Besides investing more than 10% of ourincome in war bonds, we asked our relatives to send war stamps instead of baby gifts to our babies; so they all three have war bonds of their own, us d do hope you are holding up well as you so wonder- fully perform your duties under such a terrific strain. It is my fervent prayer that your noble efforts will soon be re- warded by the realization of your (and our) dreams come true in this horrible world situation Theire all backing you! Sincerely, Carrye, Johnson Cooper. Mrs. Robt. U. Cooper per Special nurse
