Dear President Bush,
This is the first time I have ever written to the
President, and I am not sure of the format. However, it is my
intent to convey my feelings to you concerning your recent
dismissal of Doug Wead.
I am not sure of all the ins and outs of this particular
issue. I am often surprised and disappointed at the skimpy as
well as discriminate coverage provided by our newspapers. If,
however, the coverage is accurate, I am to believe Mr. Wead was
dismissed because he refused homosexual magazine reporters access
to a press conference.
Mr. President, it is not my intention to offer you an
opinion on what was done. I would just ask you if you feel that
what occurred was in the best interest of our nation? If you
feel it was, then I would question your spiritual commitment,
since God's word states His opinion on deviate behavior. He also
makes it clear as to where He feels His people should stand on
human issues that conflict with His agenda.
One of the most provocative passages says, We ought
to obey God rather than men." (Acts 5:29) I may be wrong, but if
there was an opportunity to show where you stand, it was there.
It was a disappointment to read of this travesty in the
newspaper. It seems that the only time they make any effort to
praise you, it is when you do something that causes those of us
who helped elect you to doubt ourselves.
I realize the magnitude of your task, and pray for you
daily. Your situation is hopeless, unless you know whom you have
hope in. Trust God's leading. He never Fails.
Sincerely
W.R. Ray Runtt Pruitt

Re: Doug Wead
Dear President Bush:
As conservative members of the California Republican Assembly
and supporters of your Presidency, we are concerned over the
dismissal of Doug Wead from his position at the White House.
We need Doug Wead's representation of the traditional Christian
famil values in the White House to counter the pressures of
the homosexual and anti-family groups who seek to destroy the
family.
Please re-instate Mr. Wead to his former post.

Dear President Bush:
I would like to express my concern regarding Doug Wead. I feel
it would not serve the American public to remove this man from
his position because of pressure from a radical group.
Americans stand for what is moral. We teach our children what
is right and wrong, and I feel that Mr. Wead is standing up for
what is right.
I am a life time voting Republican, Conservative.
I believe in your ability to make tough decisions, and have

To whom it may concern;
I am writing in regards to the pressure that was put on one of
your aides, who recently left. I'm refering to Douglas Wead.
It sadden me to learn that the office of the presidency of the
United States would allow the "gay" lobby to have such an
influence. This "gay" lobby only represents a very small min-
ority of the America populas, so my question is how can this
happen when almost none of them voted for the Bush/Quayle
ticket in 1988? The great mass of people who voted for this
administration are God fearing folk who agreed with President
Bush during his campaign that we as a nation should return to
traditional values. Ones which were founded by our forefathers
and based on Biblical principles. I just wanted to say that you
should thank the Almighty for men such as Douglas Wead who make
a stand for Bible truths. It is men like these who make this
country great. The gays can only work to destroy this great
nation. Winston Churchill once said that a nation who forgets
the past, has no future. History does repeat itself. Are you
going to allow this kind of thinking to go on, or are you going
to open up your Bible and find thee truth concerning the gay
issue?
Please re-instate Douglas Wead as one of President Bushs' asides.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Dear Mr. President:
Greetings!
I am not a frequent writer to your office and for the most part have been able
to support your decisions. However, I feel compelled on this matter.
Many of us have viewed with alarm the pressure placed upon Doug Wead to
leave his position as special assistant. Mr. Wead has served you with honor.
You have other staff persons sympathetic to homosexuals and pornographic
interests that will never be an asset to you.
Any attempt for you to win the support of the so-called "gay and lesbian"
coalition will be futile.
The majority of Americans would like to believe we have a President who
indeed "lives as well as speaks about family values". Now, I strongly doubt
integrity when the courting of the homosexuals begins so overtly.
I am not suggesting what your debt is to Mr. Wead, but I am reminding you of
the debt to all of us trying to save our traditional Judeo-Christian values.
We pray for you in the role of leader of the free world. May God give you
guidance.

Dear Mr. President:
I was very disappointed to learn this morning of the
departure of Mr. Doug Wead from your staff. While I
recognize my understanding of the circumstances surrounding
Mr. Wead's departure may be incomplete, I must still take the
time to record my protest over what appears to be the work of
the gay community leading to Mr. Wead's leaving your staff.
You have run on a platform plank affirming traditional
values, and to date I have been favorably impressed with your
stance on the various issues that would be affected by such a
position. If the initial reports passed on this morning are
confirmed, though, I would have to seriously question the
sincerity of your position in the future.
I have been and am a supporter of your presidency. I
voted for you in 1988, and plan to support and vote for you
again in 1992. Since you assumed the duties of President of
the United States of America, my admiration for you as an
individual and a leader has grown virtually continuously, and
as I have forcefully contended in numerous casual discussions
with groups of friends, I believe you are doing an
exceptional job directing our nation in a time that requires
balancing literally hundreds of competing interests.
Bowing to the demands of an extremely small, militant,
minority seeking to detrimentally restructure our society to
suit their own agenda hardly fits my previous perceptions,
and the gay community is just such a group.
The problem with an issue like this, of course, is
that it is so fundamental - it gets directly to the heart of
a man. If you're willing to sell someone down the river to
appease a noisy and influential (though small) special
interest group, one can reasonably ask if such an act lacking
in integrity is but a sign of a much deeper personality flaw
simply hidden from general view. Don't force your supporters
to begin considering such possibilities!
I urge you to draw Doug Wead back into your
administration. Stand for the things you have repeatedly
supported in the American public forum. Continue to give
your backers reason to be proud and vocal in your support.
In Complete Respect,

bidding of others! Though this is not the leader I've seen

I believe that the Bible teaches that we should pray for

Dear Mr. President:
I am writing to you as a very concerned Christian, family
man, an American Navy man, taxpayer and loyal supporter
of your administration.
It has been brought to my attention that a great American
servant, Mr. Doug Wead, is being forced out of his position
at the White House by pressure from gay liberal members of
your staff. I sincerely hope this is not true. Doug Wead
is, as you know, a great human being as a Christian, writer
and a model for all Americans to emulate.
I STRONGLY oppose the liberal gay rights group because of
their sexual preference, which is an abomination; their
threat to American security, their aiding in the deterioration
of the Amercian family with their liberal morales and conduct,
and their pressuring good, solid Christians like Doug Wead
out of of his position at the White House.
If there is anything I can do to help Doug Wead stay at the
White House, please call me at 202/310-1288.

Dear President Bush,
I just returned home from a trip to Eastern Europe to learn that Doug Wead was
fired. I was shocked by the news not SO much because Doug Wead received his
walking papers, but because of the supposed reasons for his firing.
It is possible that there are other underlying reasons that justify his firing.
The question now arises, as to who will replace Doug Wead and ,is there a
viable ear of the Evangelical Community to the President of the United States?
Millions in the Christian Community are not the bigoted narrow minded fringe
as some questionable "zealots" would make them out to be. They are the silent
people who love our country, who have family values and who support our

Who will now represent this Community to the President of the United States? I
just hope special interest groups will not use you for their own personal gain
and that the Christian Community have an ear to our President.
These are not easy days for you. Many are upholding you with their concern

Dear President Bush:
It has come to my attention that Mr. Doug Wead has recently
been removed from his post as your advisor. I wish to express my
protest at his departure from the White House.
I have been a life long Republican and believe strongly in
traditional Christian values and ethics. I voted for you based
on your ethics and values and desire to see you continue in what
you believe. Mr. Wead holds these same ethics and values and I
believe he has been a tremendous asset to the White House. It is
imperative that he remain at his post to support these
traditional values which are so critical to the United States.
Again, this letter is in support of Mr. Wead and in protest
to his departure.

Dear President Bush,
I am very concerned about the recent firing of Mr. Doug Wead.
Mr. Wead believed strongly in traditional family values; values that need
to be held by our government leaders.
It would appear that pressure from the homosexual lobby brought about this
man's firing.
History shows that the breakdown of the traditional family within a society
leads to the downfall of the nation in which that society exists.
Many people in this country voted for you because they believed that you'd
work to keep the traditional family strong. Several recent decisions, in my
opinion, indicate that your administration is abandoning the positions that
you talked about during your campaign.
Please do not give in to pressure from special interest groups who as a whole

As an American taxpayer, I am outraged that the National

my hard-earned tax dollars on pornography and obscenity.
Hundreds of thousands of citizens like me will hold your
Administration accountable should you, as President of the United States,
fail to veto this measure.
The N.E.A. has already given tens of thousands of public dollars to
fund live sex shows, homoerotic film festivals, blasphemous photographs,
paintings, and artwork.
I, as an American citizen and taxpayer, therefore, hereby petition you,
the President of the United States of America, to dutifully execute the
responsibilities of your office and veto this bill which is contrary to the
majority wishes of the American people. Public tax money cannot be
used to fund pornography and obscenity.

RE: Dept. Assistant to President
Public Liason
Dear Mr. Bush:
We have heard through our pastor, Mr. Paul Zink, who is a
WEAD
personal friend of Mr. Doug Weeds, that he has been fired from
your staff because he could not go against his princapals re-
garding homosexuals. This has been a very upsetting set of
circumstances, especially since our pastor was summoned to
Washington by you and asked for names of people who will serve
in your government that are evangelicals. He was among the
seventy men you called recently to pray for this nation.
How could this person, Bobbi Green Kilberg, who was the
one who fired Doug Weeds, be in such power there? Surely you
do not need that type of person in your administration. They
should be fired and Doug Weeds restored to his post.
While we love the people, we hate and will not tolerate
the sin of homosexualism. It is NOT the normal American way
of living -- period. We do not want our children brought up
like this. We thought you held the same views and values as
we did. Have you changed your mind? We need to know.
These are troubled times, and you are very busy, I am
sure. Is there no one who has pure principals and lives them
that you can trust to take care of these things for you? How
rare is the man who will in this day and time do what Doug Weeds
has done. Won't you please restore him to his post and remove
the pro-homosexual from their post? This is our desire, as
citizens of this great country. How could we let this opportunity
pass and not make known to you how we feel.
Of course, you are always in our prayers, Sir, and we
send you all our love and respect.

Dear President Bush;
I understand that you have elected to ask Doug Wead
to step down from position of service whereby the
"traditional value" that you ran on for the Presidency
can now be weakened - replacing with values that could
bring downfall to our nation. Reconsideration should be given.
As a life-long Republican conservative, it is my desire
to see this nation have leadership that represents the
ethics that our forefathers had who founded our country
and constitution.
In a time of crisis this country needs to take moral
stands and be strengthened by men of conviction with
moral courage to stand for truth and right. Placing
men of strong character to stand up under pressure in
leadership positions takes courage - may you have God's

Sex crimes decrease
as porn outlets close
Does pornography cause sex crimes? In
1984, there were at least 163 sex-related
businesses in Oklahoma City. Forty-two
were prostitution rings listed as escort ser-
vices in the Yellow Pages. Since efforts to
close down pornography outlets and prosti-
tution rings in Oklahoma City began in
1984, over 150 sex-related businesses have
been shut down and prostitution has de-
clined sharply. According to the FBI's 1989
Uniform Crime Report, rape was down in
Oklahoma County 26%. In the rest of the
state, where no similar effort has been made,
the rate increased 20.8%.
