Arnold 3875 Little Hurricane Road Martinsville, IN 46151 President George Bush White House Washington, DC. 20500 Dear Mr. Bush: I must say that I was quite upset to hear about the firing of Doug Wead, from your White House Staff! It appears you are allowing the homosexual community to run the White House. This makes no sense politically or otherwise. As a conservative Christian, Mr. Bush, I continue to vote for people who represent the family and the values this country was founded on. Mr. Wead represents the conservative Christian perspective that, I know, model much more of America than does the "gay community" that seem to be running your office. If your reasoning is politically motivated, that makes no sense because the gays will not support you in the next election anyway. They will obviously stand behind whatever liberal candidate the democrates decide to run. Mr. Bush, please give serious consideration to what is happening in this country, let alone on your own staff! The homosexals are a very, very small minority and DO NOT represent America. America is made up, generally, of pretty conservative people who DO NOT WANT HOMOSEXUALS BEING THE ADVISORS TO OUR NATIONAL LEADER! However, I write to voice my deep concern and strong disapproval over your precedent setting invitations to the White House of representatives from militant gay activist groups, thus lending them regretable credability. I am also shocked and dismayed that Doug Wead was fired when he accurately represented my concerns to you regarding these matters. Your margin of victory came from the evangelical community which Mr. Wead helped rally to your cause. This is a substantial kick in the face not only for him but for all of us who share such concerns for family and traditional values and have heard your words to the effect that you do as well. Such actions, however, raise grave doubts about where you really stand on some very important issues. We are pulling for you and for our country. We want pulling for one to mean pulling for the other. Please, do not disappoint us. We pray for you frequently. Sincerely yours, Gerald Waggener KH Wead-2 WENDELL & MURLENE TURNER 4665 LOTT ROAD EIGHT MILE, AL 36613 September 17, 1990 President George Bush The White House Washington, D.C. 20500 Dear President Bush: I am writing to express our sincere regret that you have taken a stand against the Christian community in our country. It was with disappointment that I have just finished reading an article about all of the things that you have done to show you are against the Christians and the churches in the United States. I could hardly believe that the article was true, but since I had read these same end things in other papers, I wanted to write to you personally and see if they are true. Mr. President, it was through our votes that you were elected. The largest percentage of your votes came from the evangelical community. How can you take this stand against us? Mr. President, the homosexual community has ruined the life of our sons and daughters. It has made them into something that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of. How can you invite them to the White House and give press credentials to the reporters for their paper? And, Mr. Bush, how could you let Mr. Wead be fired? I am so disappointed in the things that have been done that sounds as though you are against God and His people. We are SO far in debt, yet our taxes are taken to provide the funds for sacriligious works of art. Yet if we refused to pay our taxes because of this, we would be jailed. Recently, I had the honor (?) of defending you in a conversation with an acquaintance of mine because I mistakenly believed that you are a Christian. I say mistakenly believed, because no Christian could let satan's forces be used against God's people and their stand for right. Our country has steadily gone down since the Christian people and faith has been attacked so flagrantly. Please, help us to stand for right. Please do not take satan's crowd under your wing and let them attack us. Please, please, change your stand. We pray for you and for all the many, many hard decisions that you have to make. May God give you wisdom as you seek to do what He would have you to do. Sincerely, The + Mrs. Wendell W.Surner Mr. & Mrs. Wendell W. Corbett 1235 E 34th Spokane WA 99203 As Wead-2 September 7, 1990 President George Bush The White House Washington, D.C. 20050 Dear Mr. President: I have always been proud of the fact that you chose Houston as your hometown and the fact that we are fellow Houstonians. I have also been proud of the fact that the people of Texas and the United States elected a man of strong moral and spiritual conviction to lead our country into the 1990's. However, I question the fact that another man of equally strong moral and spiritual conviction was dismissed from his position as one of your advisors. Mr. President, unless the people of America turn back from this spiralling descent into moral anarchy, unless the people of America return to the God of our founding fathers, we, as a nation, have no hope. As the liberal minorities continue to chip away at the very foundations our country was built on, we are destined for collapse. And, Mr. President, with the dismissal of Mr. Wead, you have lost contact with one more individual who is in touch with the true heartbeat of America. Mr. President, in spite of what the liberal minority may try to make you think, human rights do not include homosexuality, abortion, "self-improvement" through New Age sorcery, etc. God destroyed cities and nations (Sodom and Gomorrah, the Roman Empire) because they refused to turn away from these very sins (they are sins and cannot be white-washed with such terms as "alternative lifestyles", etc.). Mr. President, I do not list these sins with a "holier-than" attitude for, in the past, I have been guilty of liberalism. However, I have seen the way liberalism destroys people and families, how it provides a haven for those who are consumed with the objective of self- gratification. Praise the Lord, I was blessed to have parents who forgive and love with the same unconditional love as the Father. There is hope for us. Because of His unconditional love, 1 Corinthians 6:9- 11 (Revised King James Version) says: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God." -2- September 7, 1990 Mr. President, millions of Christians are struggling to be heard in our capital. Unfortunately, ten riotous homosexuals are able to get front page coverage in some of our nation's largest newspapers while three Christians trying to save unborn children's lives spend weeks in the Harris County jail for peaceful protest (and the only reason I know of this incident is because I listen to a Christian radio station here in Houston, not due to any responsible reporting on the part of the secular media) With the dismissal of Mr. Wead, these millions struggling to be heard, praying for revival in the land, have lost just one more means of vocalizing our beliefs, the beliefs the conservative majority hold. C. 20500 Dear President Bush: This is the redest looking paper I could find. While it was up- setting to see your administration 'courting' homosexual groups, it makes me downright angry that Doug Wead would be fired because he did not think the idea was fine. It seems to me that the wrong people are leaving the White House staff. The so-called 'Gay Rights Groups' are vocal enough, way beyond their numbers, without 'courting' them. Hasn't the homosexual lobby hurt the country enough without bringing them into more prominence? Why not honor causes that elevate mankind rather than emphasize depravity? If we don't soon start to recognize the source of our problems, there won't be a country for anyone to be President of. We are certainly on a slippery slope. Sincerely yours, R. C. By inviting Christie Hefner to a meeting at the White House you appear to be endorsing a life style which is not profamily. I'm sorry that you have come out in support of continuing government funding of anti- Christian bigotry and pornography by the National Endowment for the Arts. When I voted for you I thought you were staunchly pro-family and that you practiced a faith that was pro-Christian. I'm praying for you. Sincerely, (Mrs.) Dorothy M. And well we should pray for you as you seek a solution to this crisis. Many prayers have gone up for you, especially at the presidential election two years ago, and many of them came from the evangelical segment of the population. Some who were life-long Democrats, switched their vote to assure your victory. Recently, however, the confidence of this evangelical segment is beginning to wane. Why? Because, in April, you seemed to favor a group who follow a non-traditional and anti-family life-style - the homosexual life-style, and you invited them to the White House to witness your signing of the Hate Crimes Bill. Then in July, this same group was back to witness the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act. To add insult to injury, just recently, your liason to evangelicals, Doug Wead, was fired, apparently because he voiced objection to the presence of the homosexuals. Mr. President, you entered your office as president who stands for "traditional values" and the traditional family, but I fear that, if you continue to turn your back on the evangelical segment of the population, you will lose their vote for your party at the ballot box in November, and more importantly, their prayers for you. The homosexuals, generally speaking, did not vote you into office; the evangelicals did. Please, Mr. President, do not turn your back on those who have supported you these past two years. Sincerely, Elfrida Falk (Mrs.) Elfrieda Falk AWEAD-2 President George Bush: I am deeply distrubed and very disappointed in you, as our National Leader. Recently you fired one of your most stanch supporters because he dared to disagree with you, how sad. He was right you know, rehire him. I thought you professed to be a christian and yet you uphold the homosexual and even invite them to the White House, how awful. I have never been invited to your office because I'm morally straight and a decent law abiding citizen. In case you don't know it, according to scripture, homosexuality is an abomination to the God who created men and women. No other president in U.S. history has ever bowed to the demands of these sicko's or invited them to the White House. Why should they have special consideration because of being a deviate? These people are militant, and demanding everyone accept their life style, even our children. I refuse and will do everything I can to stop them! Let them return to their closet! This letter is to express my disgust with the Federal Government over its continued support of the National Endowment for the Arts which promotes such sick and perverted Anti-Christian bigotry and pornography. Isn't there some government agency that you've set up to try to crack down on Child pornography. Such irony!!! My tax dollars are going towards fighting pornography and supporting it at the same time. I know your job is tough, trying to appease all the special interest groups that this nation has come to be composed of, but unless you let go of this horrible double- standard, unless you hold up some symbol of righteousness, and wholesomeness to our youth, adults and those who call themselves adults, this Nation will fall. Furthermore, you're decision to invite five representatives of militant homosexual organizations during the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26 only lends credibility to that perverted group. It says to me that you recognize homosexuality as a viable alternate lifestyle. Was it worth firing Doug Wead over? I represent the majority of Americans, young and old. How do I know this? During President Reagan's terms, he held up a high moral standard that caused the nation to take notice and feel proud again. Because he won the vote of the states overwhelmingly, that tells me that this nation is still composed of people (shining lights) that want to be led by a President who will hold up a Standard of Righteousness. In contrast, if you hold up a double-standard, people will quickly begin to distrust you, the core will become rotten and the glossy outer shell will soon become tarnished and bitter. When contacted about the invitation, your special liason to the religious community stated Mr. Bush "is a man who lives as well as speaks about family values.' He further stated that in no way does the President endorse the life- styles of all groups which attend such events. Following on July 26th you again invited five representatives of militant homosexual organization to the signing of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Your further inviting of Playboy publisher Christy Hefner to a meeting at the White along with your continued government funding of anti-Christian bigotry and pornography by the National Endowment for the Arts with no restrictions and your firing of Mr. Wead leads me to only one conclusion; that is you have again decided to rethink some previous statements made during the last election campaign. This is certainly of grave concern to me personally. This is a slap in the face to the very evangelical Christian community of which you could not have been elected president without their support. We are living in very perilous times, the crime within Washington, DC is one of utter disgrace. Government is spending money for aids research in larger amount than all other disease combined. Yet we are attempting to irradiate a moral problem with more money, and the government position is safe sex. Go ahead and continue your life-style just use a "condom". Our education standards are sinking lower, our saving & loan problem is about to bankrupt the country and all these conditions point to one basic problem, morality. Where do we learn this. I submit to you Mr. President we learn it from the Holy Bible. Through study and prayer. We need to teach Biblical principles yet our public schools cannot be even mentioned in the classroom since it cannot be proven by scientists. I submit to you Mr. President the scientists have never proven evolution and never will, however it is taught as the only truth. The humanist's agenda is to prevent any religious message to be taught there- by freeing them to subvert the human mind to their thinking. If we choose to exclude God from our lives we are sealing our own fate very rapidly. It is very ironic to me the U.S. is called a Christian nation when is is in fact again the law to even pray within our public schools. Our money has the inscription "In God We Trust. I feel there are few within government or the mainstream of education who believe the inscription, but rather worship the almighty dollar in getting all of them that is possible through hook or crook. The thinking today is man is superior and he (government) will care for all your needs. This is only going to get worse regardless of the amount of money which is spent. We need to change the people attitudes. When will be be awakened to the fact this will not work nor can we continue encourage life-styles not sanctioned by God's Holy Word. What is desperately needed at this moment is for you our President to be 100% honest and stand for human decency, speaking out on the wrongs within our society including the consequence of deficit spending of our nation. We need a president to will truly lead our country rather than lowering our values and becoming one of them. These groups will only be satisfied when brought down to their level of morals. St. Luke Chapter 6, verse 39: Reads as follows; As he (Jesus) spake a parable unto them (the people), "Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall into the ditch." Dear President Bush, This is the second letter I have written to you this week-end. The first one got thrown in the waste basket. Perhaps it was a good thing since it figuratively set the basket on fire, it was suchcon a hot letter. I think I am calmed down now and be a little more objective. AND OBJECTIVE I am! In fact my objection borders on being furious. I was very disappointed when you decided in favor of the tax increase. One of the reasons I voted for you was that you knew the ropes of the Senate and House of Representatives: I thought you would be more able to control their spending. Why have so many programs actually had their allotments raised? Keeping them even would be unwise to say nothing of raising them. I am extremely upset, frustrated and angry that Doug Wead has been fired. Who in the world has your ear? Where can you possible be getting the idea that we are happy with you succumbing to pressure from a limited segment of the population. And why have you had your picture taken with them giving tacit approval of that life-style? Have you forgotten the millions of us out here who value our families and the traditional values? You must be feeling intense pressure due to the situation in Kuwait, but if we go down the tube, so to speak, it won't matter what is hap- pening anywhere. PRESIDENT THERE ARE A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT I'm VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT THAT ARE RELATED TO WHAT is GOING ON OR NOT GOING ON IN THE CAPITAL, 1. TAXES WE Do NOT NEED MORE TAXES. WE NEED LESS SPENDING AND LESS WASTE. IT IS LIKE TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION. KEEP TAXES DOWN. 2. THE ECCONOMY: WE AS A NATION ARE IN TROUBLE INDUSTRY CANNOT COMPETE IN THE WORLD MARKET. People ARE LEOSING THEIR JOBS. WHY CAN'T WE Do SOMETHING TO GIVE INCENTATIVES TO INDUSTRY TO BE MORE COMPETITIVE? 3. MONEY: I Do NOT LIKE THE 10BA THAT I, As A TAXPAYER MUST GUARANTEE THAT BANKS THAT THE LOAN MONEY TO RUSSIA OR ANY NATION. THAT IS A REAL SHAME ON OUR GOVT PUTTING THAT BURDEN ON THE TAXPAYER. WE SHOULD NOT BE LOANING MONEY ANYWAY, BECAUSE we ALREADY OWE SO MUCHY I DEBT WE CAN EVER PAY IT BACK, 4, I DID NOT LIKE THE TRIBUTE GIVEN TO NELSON MANDELLA. OR THE FINANCIAC Support GIVEN TO HIS COMMUNIST LEANING ORGANIZATION, 5. I Do NOT LIKE THE SANTIONS put ON So, AFRICA. So AFRICA TREATS THE BLACKS PAG2 BETER THAN ANY AFRICAN NATION. PLUS, THEY ARE FRIENDS TO THE us. IT IS NO WONDER THE REST OF THE WORLD DOES NOT RESPECT us THE WAY WE TREAT OUR FRIENDS, 5. IT IS HARD FOR ME TO SEE How THE S&L SAVINSS AND BANKS HAVE LOST St MUCH MONEY WITHOUT THE OWNERS AND BANK OFFICERS EITHER STEALING OR GETTING KICK BACKS UNDER THETABLE, I UNDERSTAND THAT EXCESSIVELY HIGH SALARIES MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THESE LOSSES. ALSO Now THE TAXPAYER HAVE TO FORK OVER AGAIN, AND I DON'T LIKE ITI 6, I Do No LIKE THE WAY THE GOVT HAS RECOGNIZED THE HOMOSECTUAL SECTOR AND AT THE SAME TIME, HAS GIVEN No Support TO THE CHRISTIAN VALUES THAT HAD MADE THIS COUNTRY GREAT.. 7. AIDS, BEING CONTAGEOUS, I BELIEVE ALL AIDS PATIENTS SHOULD BE IDENTIFIED OR BETTER YET, QUARANTEENED. I'm TIRED OF ALL THE PUBLICITY AND PITY THEY GET. WhEN THEIR PROBLEM WAS BRought ON By THEIR CAN ACTIVITIES. (IN MOST (ASES). 8. THE OiL CRISIS: IN 1980 1973, PRES CARTER SAID "LETS MAKE OUR NATION SELF DEPENDENT ON OiL RESERVES." THE INDEPENDENT OIL OPERATORS WENT TO WORK FINDING NEW RESERVES, THEN IN 1980, ALL OF A SUDDEN, TO OUR SURPRISE!? WE HAD TOO MUCH OiL! PRICES OF OiL DROPPED TO $1000 A BARREL: THE INDEPENDENTS HAD To Sell OUT TO THE "MAJORS" BECAUSE 18th oil COULD NOT PAY THE Bill. THIS RUINED MANY BUSINESSES PASE 3 S&L, BANKS, AND INDUSTRIES, THE FACT IS WE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH Do Mestic oil. THE OPEC COUNTRIES WERE A MINOPOLY AND OUR GOOD ÓLE US GOV'T DID NOTHING TO PROTECT OUR OWN INDUSTRIES. AN IMPORT TAX ON FOREIGN OIL COULD HAVE HELD THE PRICE TO 20 00 A BARREL AND THAT WOULD HAVE ALLOWED THE Oil INDUSTRY TO CONTINUE TO FIND NEW OIL. RESERVES, Now WHERE ARE WE? WE ARE AGAIN AT THE MERCY OF FOREIGN OiL. WE DO NOT HAVE DOMECTIC RESERVES TO FILL OUR NEEDS, 9, I HAVE s REAL PROBLEM IN WONDERING WHAT OUR CONGRESS IS GOING To DO ABOUT OUR SAGGING ECCONOMY. THERE IS No EXCUSE IN DOING NOTHING. PEOPLE ARE BEING LAID OFF. FROM REAL INDUSTRIAL JOBS. INDUSTRY NEEDS To BE MORE Competitive, THEY NEED MODERN PLANTS. BETTER MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES., INCENTATIVES TO MAKE THE NECESSARY INVESTMENTS. I KNOW THIS IS LENTHY, BUT I AM VERY CONCERNED, WE NEED TO PRACTICE FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. James h. lawer 1324 Elizabeth Circle President George Bush Freeport, Illinois The white House August 3, 1990 Washington, D.C. WEAD Dear Mr. President. Bush, I feel that someone close to you has given you extremely bad ad- vise on two counts. One - those who advised you to invite the gay act- 2 ivists to the signing of the Hate Crimes Bill and the Disabilities Act. Two - the firing of Mr. Doug Wead, Special Assistant for Public Liason. Mr. Wead was doing a good job, trying to protect you from the ire of those who would criticize you for the mistake of inviting the gay act- ivists to the White House. By your invitation to the gays you have given credility to a group (only a 3% minority of our population) who have the agend to undermine traditional values to suit their own intent. This is the same group who have done the vilest things to churches, and mocked traditional values. If the Republican party let them into their ranks, it will be the demise of the Republican Party. The Republicans will be lowering their standard and be just like the Democrats. I feel you are alienating the very majority of those who voted for you because we trusted you to uphold traditional values as you said you would. Your 1000 points of light have turned to betrayal and darkness. Please have the courage to admit that these two mistakes have been made Do your best to exert leadership in the right direction- away from courting these fringe groups who will crucify -even you, if they get the chance. You are the leader of the Republican party and we expect you to uphold the best traditions of that party as well as the best interest of the nation. Please support traditional values that the majority of thosewho voted for you hold dear. Yours truly, 311 Parramatta #E302 Houston, Texas 77073 August 6, 1990 President of The United States The White House Washington, D.C. 20500 Dear Mr. President: I will begin this letter by introducing myself. My name is Philip Beach, and I teach science in the Aldine School District in Houston. My wife, Dana, is a teacher in the Spring School District and is co-signing this letter. My wife and I voted for you in the last election, and we both love this country more than most people could know. Lately, my wife and I have been frustrated over several things that have happened in this country. We voted for you due to many issues. One reason we voted for you was because of your strong view on the family. Once eroded, the very foundation of this country will also be eroded. I'm sorry, but homosexuality is not the basis for a family. Homosexuality is defined in the Bible as an "abomination before God". If you are a Christian as we are, there is no other way to look at it. We don't hate the homosexual people, but we do hate their life- style. The current aids crisis is everyone's problem, but you say that you want to stop this crisis, and yet allow the main means of spreading this disease to go unchecked. Doug Wead had the true view on homosexuality, but as in the past, he was put out due to the loud mouths of the homosexual lobby. I find this hard to believe, since he represented millions of Christians throughout the country. The homosexual groups did not vote for you or support you, but we did, and feel let down. p. 2 The next issue is gun control. Any intelligent person knows that the guns are not the problem with crime in this country, but it is the weak judicial system that allows criminals to get a slap on the wrist and then walk free to victimize someone else. Our constitutional right to bear arms has been eroded as well. The guns that are used in crimes are not legally owned guns, and can be verified from statistics. To take legally owned guns from the citizens is to let the fox into the hen house. You might as well put up a sign and open your door to allow the criminals easy access to your home, not to mention foreign governments. This was the initial reason for this right, and yet again I feel betrayed. The next issue is the communist pampering that has gone on. The problem is that we are not as gullible as most of the people who think that communism is equal in morality to our form of government. We have freely elected representatives of our views, and our leaders are there because we want them there. Their government positions are appointed, and not elected. To call them leaders is wrong. Gorbechev is not a leader; he is a figure head being used to get the money necessary to continue their aggression against not only the world but that of their own people. Has our hope for peace SO blinded us as to not be able to see how communism works? Find out how many people are still being held because of their religious view, and then tell me they are on an equal moral footing as us. Unfortunately our media has a different agenda in mind, and many people are not able to see the truth. To rate a communist leader anywhere near a freely elected president is unbelievable. It also angers me p. 3 when millions of dollars are being poured into Russia, while like me, hard working Americans find it almost impossible to get loans necessary to survive. I would love world peace, but do we really think that there will be peace without Jesus Christ? Man's moral position is still the same, no matter how much new technology comes about. A little bible study will also prove that abortion is murder. You have had a good view on this, and for that, I, and those that have made it in this world thank you. Once again, however, we are being led to believe that most in this country are for abor- tion. To make innocent babies pay for the crimes of others is murder. People no longer want to take responsibilities for their actions. Being a teacher, it is easy for me to see much of the problem with education. The erosion in education can be traced back to when absolutes were taken from the schools. These kids want direction, and answers, not theory. They have questions that need to be answered, but we can't without moral absolutes. When prayer was taken out of the schools, education took a dive. How can you have truth apart from God? I am tired of the ACLU eroding this country's morality. The funding of the arts goes hand in hand with this. Having my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who is still alive, blasphemed and slandered in the name of art is not right, and that I am helping to pay for it with my tax dollars that I work so hard for is wrong. The National Endowment for the Arts needs to be stopped now. This is not art, and if it is, then I am ready to hang up my paintbrush. How can we fund such things, raise the salaries of congress, and pay for abortion clinics, and then say we need to raise taxes? p. 4 Making a living from politics was never the intent of the founding fathers. Public service is an honor, not a way to make a million dollars. There is a definite contradiction be- tween our liberal congress getting higher salaries, and the raising of our taxes. I think the majority of them should be forced to be a teacher for a number of years and see how hard it is to make ends meet, and then they would see why I am outraged at the waste from government. The last point I want to cover is the American flag. To me the flag is the representation of this country and all the men who died to make this country free. To burn the flag is to me an attack upon this country. Who are these people burning the flag? If they were true Americans, they would hold the flag in esteem. This is not free speech, this is an attack upon every- thing that this country is about. I will end this letter by saying that my wife and I will pray that God will give you the wisdom to stand up against these special interest groups. You are the President of The United States of America, which puts you in a very special place for us. You are our elected leader, and as such we stand behind you 100%. All I ask is that you come out for or against these issues publicly. We are the one's who support you, defend you, vote for you, and ask if you will stand up and help defend our issues before those special interest groups? I am tired of the big mouth's, Kennedy and Biden, getting their say-so, and yet hearing nothing from the other side. If the other side was more popular or numerous, then Dukakis would be in office instead of p. 5 you, and I thank the Lord that he is not. Please do not let us patriotic Americans down. Respectfully, Philip Beach Dana Beach Philip Beach Dana Beach
