Dear Mr. President,
I hope that this will get through to you. Greetings from Washington State.
I was pleased at the way you handled your vice-presidency under the Reagan
Administration, and how you did the first year or so in office.
I am quite disappointed in how things have been going this year, Mr. President,
as it seems that your administration is portraying more and more things which
are opposite from the way that you promised in your campaign. I am refering to
the pro-sodomy decisions that your administration seems to be making, first of
all by inviting these homosexuals into the White House. This is clearly far
away from representing the conservative people who voted you into office. The
secondly
fireing of Doug Wead because of his apologises to some about your inviting the
sodomites into your company. The media portrays you as arm in arm with these
people. Do you represent their immoral ways or God's?
I sincerely hope that this is just an oversight on your part and not your true
convictions. Doug Wead was yournarm to the conservatives. Why was he fired?
Someone must be pretty pro-homosexual to have fired him on the grounds that the
media says.
I worked very hard on your campaign and am involved in the Republican Party.
Please write and re-confirm your conservative stance on important issues such
as this. It sure would give me a lot more respect for your administration once
again.

Dear Mr. President,
I am, and will continue to be, a supporter of
yours.
However, I want to tell you of my distress over
the recent dismissal of Doug Wead. I have to say
that I agree with Mr. Wead's assessment that it is
not appropriate to invite to the White House indiv-
iduals whose sole basis for distinction is their
advocacy of sodomy or pornography. I am referring,
of course, to the homosexual rights groups and the
publisher of Playboy Magazine.
Mr. President, the wisdom of these invitations
must be in doubt in a time when organized homosexual
groups have desecrated churches and shouted down
government officials sent to discuss measures to
help AIDS victims.
As regards Ms. Hefner's magazine, surely you
are award of the many studies linking pornography
and sex crimes against women, children and even men.
I respectfully ask that you instruct your staff
to reconsider your stance on such matters. I hope
that in the future the White House guest list will
be more reflective of the values of your constituents
and, we believe, yourself.
Very truly yours,

Dear President Bush,
I doubt you will actually read this letter, but let me express my extreme dissatisfaction
with your actions toward the Christian community and the firing of Doug Wead. I
wonder if Mr. Wead still considers you to be a "man of integrity" as his book title
stated?
Your reputation as a "family man" is seriously in question when you cave in to
militant homosexuals and invite them on more than one occasion to the White House.
You have set a most dubious precedent! Ironic, isn't it, that even though you have
given much attention to the AIDS problem, homosexual and AIDS activists interrupted
one of your speeches four times because you aren't doing enough. I doubt anything
will satisfy them short of sanctioning their lifestyle and putting the full weight of
government behind a campaign to wipe out the last vestiges of traditional morality.
While homosexuals have every right to their choice of lifestyles, it is NOT the lifestyle
of choice for the overwhelming majority of Americans even though the homosexual
community is doing their best to change that.
I would like to continue to believe you to be a strong, moral supporter of our families,
but your recent decisions to invite homosexuals and pornographers such as Playboy
editor Christie Hefner to the White House raise serious doubts and questions.

Dear President Bush;
Recently I learned of the firing of Doug Wead, it very much
surprised me that you would fire a man who was so instrumental
in the Bush election. As a minister myself I know that the christ-
ian community will be very concerned about your judgments on
future moral and ethical decisions. Because these decisions weigh
so heavy on our hearts it makes it very difficult to vote for a
man who we can not fully rely on to carry out what is truly moral
and right.
To vote for anyone less than a man of morals is to waste a
vote. I personally supported your election as president of this
great Country. To think that you would now turn your back on
what I believed you truly believed in is very disheartening.
The fact that you have supported homosexual groups and porn-
ography and invited Playboy publisher Christie Hefner to the
WHITE HOUSE disappoints all those who so rigorously supported
your bid for president.
I haven't yet decided who I will vote for or support in
1992 . Please give me a reason to vote for you.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH,

Dear Mr. President,
As a conservative my hat is off to Doug Wead for standing up for
his principles. I think you made a mistake in allowing Killberg-Demar-

Do you really want all of your people to say the same things?
Isn't there any room in the White House for the conservative view-
point? You have lost a great supporter and one of great integrity. A
rare quality, not often found in the halls of the government.
The Washington Blade, Playboy, The Gay & Lesbian Task Force, these
groups will never support you in 1990. Your staff is very naive, as it
is politically dangerous to cater to these groups.

Dear Mr. President:
RE: THE FIRING OF R. DOUGLAS WEAD
I want to express my disappointment with your staff regarding Douglas Wead.
During your campaign you talked about a conservative America. You promised
Americans if you were elected that you would move for a more conservative
America. I am a registered Republican, who wants a more conservative America.
I am very saddened that the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force was able
to put enough pressure on your staff to get this strong conservative fired.
Please stop allowing liberal organizations such as these to pressure you.
Give Americans what you promised-- a conservative America.
Additionally, if it had not been for the work of Douglas Wead I probably
would have voted for Pat Robertson.
Thank you for allowing me to let you know how I feel.

Dear Mr. President,
Today I read in a newly arrived journal that you have
fired Doug Wead who paàyed a key role in getting you
elected. Also invited two leaders of a homosexual
group to the White House. Earlier , you had invited
Playboy publisher, Christie Hefner to a meeting.
Such actions merely puts your stamp of approval on
such unwanted persons.
The morals of our nation are dipping to an all time
low. Frankly, I am very worried what is going to happen
if our nation is not turned around. Your endorsement
of such groups is not helping

Dear Mr. President:
Several months ago I became disturbed at recognition you gave
homosexual activists by inviting them to White House events.
Now the articles continue to mount up in my library about the
unfortunate sacking of your former advisor Doug Wead.
I am enclosing the latest such article that has come to my attention
("White House Cultural Wars" by William Blakely from New Dimensions
magazine of December 1990).
Mr. President, I hope you will give this matter your personal
attention and return Mr. Doug Wead to his post. We thought you
were Pro-family, and that would certainly by definition mean that
you were anti-homosexual. Furthermore, you profess to be a
Christian, which would seem to indicate that you should reread
the Word of God as written in Romans Chapt. 1 regarding the truth
about homosexuality.
If the enclosed article is anywhere near correct, the cause of Christ
and the Bush presidency are not being well-served by the presence of
Bobbie Green Kilberg in the Executive Department.
Sincerely,

In early July, after Wead's letter consoling
upset conservatives was passed around as
"evidence," Sununu signed off on the plan.
Now the trick was to keep their intention of
removing Wead away from the President un-

Whether you're heterosexual or homosexual, if people in your organization are saying
such things, and if you want invitations to the White House, you should renounce that.
That was my argument.
It's the same with the Playboy thing. [Ed. Note: Playboy magazine representatives were
also invited to be guests at the White House.] It's not a crusade to keep them out. The real
point is that Playboy is offensive to women, it's offensive to liberal feminists, it's offensive
to Catholics, to fundamentalists, to conservatives. There is just no socio-political mileage
out of carving out new precedents by giving them credibility.
ND: Do you have any regrets over what you did?

five years and with deep personal loyalty to him and he to me. And I left with my integri-

Dear Mr. President:
I have read that you fired Doug Wead, special liaison to the
religious community, while you invited to the White House homo-
sexuals whose lifestyles are a disgrace, and who pose a threat to
every American through the spreading of AIDS.
I wonder how you could do this, knowing how many millions of
Americans detest the gay lifestyle, and knowing how many innocent
men, women and children have died and are dying because of
homosexuals.
I understand that Mr. Wead had been a loyal supporter of you, and
had played a key role in getting you elected. Is this the way you
repay loyalty?
I am fast losing respect for all three branches of government.
I intend to do my part to see that changes are made for the better.
Sincerely,
KayRoemer
