PERSONAL
Dear Mr. Sununu,
On september 2, 1991, I sent a letter to President
Bush which has not been answered SO far. (copy enclosed)
I am taking the liberty of sending this copy to your
attention because I believe the subject is of great importance and
some attention has to be drawn to it.
The Republic of Georgia is physically located in a
strategic position in the Middle East. The majority of the population
has always been Christian and has been a friend of the West.
In these troubled times Georgia can be a valuable
friend of the United States. Its elected president Zviad Gamskhurdia
is anxious to meet with President Bush. I believe it is in the interest
of the United States and the future of democracy that such a meeting
take place. I am at your disposal to help achieve such a goal.
Respectfully yours,
Guivy Zaldastani

Dear John,
In reference to our phone conversation of today, I have attached Jack
Kenny's article, as well as our press release concerning the
unemployment benefits compromise, which outlines my actions to bring
White House attention to the problems with the benefits extension
formula for New Hampshire.
It is important for you to know that no one from my office has talked
to Jack Kenny recently. In fact, Marshall Cobleigh hasn't even seen
Jack--or talked to him since we have been in Washington. I'm afraid
most of the article is simply his own rhetoric.
Finally, the fact remains that the first thing I did after finding out
about the atrocious, unfair formula was call you. Unfortunately, you
were meeting with the President at the time, and I had no alternative
except to go to other sources in the White House to find out what could
be done to help.
John, I hope this explains my viewpoint and perspective on this
editorial. I have enclosed a couple of recent articles I believe you
will find interesting. I look forward to talking with you again soon.
Sincerely yours,

Dear John:
It was great to host you in Madrid, a city which I
know has been special for you and your family for many
years. I am delighted that the President and Secretary
Baker were able to make a good beginning to Middle East
negotiations here.
I checked into the possibility of obtaining special
issue Spanish stamps commemorating the 500th Anniversary
of the Discovery of America. Unfortunately, no special
issue is available yet, only a hand cancel. As soon as a
special issue is printed, I will send some sheets of them
to you.
Don't wait for another Presidential visit to return
to Madrid. You are always welcome to stay at the
residence.
Un fuerte abrazo,

The Honorable John Sununu
Chief of Staff
The White House
Dear John,
I would like to invite you to the Chairman's Advisory Board reception and
dinner with President and Mrs. Bush on November 21, 1991, in Washington, D.C.
The Chairman's Advisory Board is the Republican National Committee's newest
major contributor program and will be a key component of our 1992 fundraising
efforts. Our charter members contribute at least $5,000 annually to the RNC and their
financial support helps fund our expanding candidate support programs.
The dinner will cap off a full day of activities for our members, and is
scheduled to take place at the City Club of Washington which is located in Columbia
Square at 555 13th Street, N.W. Our cocktail reception will begin at 6:00 p.m. and
the dinner is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m.
We are trying to make this day very special for our Charter Members and your
attendance at our dinner will help make it memorable. Please have a member of your
staff contact Julie Gregg at (202) 863-8720 to advise if you will be able to attend the
dinner or drop by the reception.
I sincerely hope you can join us at our second national meeting for the
Chairman's Advisory Board.
Cordially,

Dear Governor,
Attached please find a copy of a letter which I received requesting my
help in having the President visit their school. There is also a letter
to President Bush that I was asked to send along.
As a reminder, this is the school where you and I put on the rally for
President Bush on February 13, 1988, a Saturday afternoon following an
18" snow fall. The school was most helpful in arranging this
successful rally.
If there is any way possible to arrange for this return visit I would
be willing to be there and help in any way I could. I look forward to
your reply.

Dear John,
As you know, Michigan is on the move and Kent County (top
Republican county in Michigan) would like you to be part of it.
We need you to come in and help us keep the enthusiasm for
Bush-Quayle and your Administration going and also help us raise
some money to assure the solid West Michigan vote in 1992. The
date is open, however we would prefer the month of November, 1991.
We will take care of transportation and expenses. Hope you
will say yes.
Sincerely,
Chuck

Dear John,
Thank you so much for agreeing to be our honored guest at the National
Meeting for members of The President's Club this October in Washington, D.C.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of The President's Club which is
comprised of individuals who have contributed at least $1,000 this year to the
Republican National Committee. The funds that have been generated by this program
help finance the political appearances and activities of President Bush, Vice President
Quayle and other Republican leaders on behalf of Republican candidates at all levels, as
well as our expanding candidate support programs.
Members receive an invitation to the annual National Meeting as a benefit of
membership. The event serves as an important fulfillment of their membership and not
as a fundraiser.
Your office confirmed with my staff that you are available to be our keynote
speaker at the luncheon being held on Wednesday, October 23 from 12 noon to
1:30 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Washington Hotel. My staff contact is Karen Kessenich,
Director of Major Donor Programs, and she can be reached at (202) 863-8720.-
John, I appreciate very much your willingness to participate in our program.
Your participation will be invaluable to the success of the event and will be very
memorable for these very dedicated supporters.
Sincerely
Clapto Clayton Yeutter

Dear Governor Sununu:
I do want to thank you for joining us for a mid-morning
breakfast yesterday. I am sure I speak for the other White House
Fellows in saying that we appreciated your candor and insight. I
found your vision on the differences between how business and
government operate especially enlightening.
I am sure you are quite correct in suggesting that the
challenges of this first Bush Administration are not yet complete,
irrespective of the vast amount of ground that has already been
covered. I undoubtedly wish you the best success in completing
that mission.
Again many thanks for joining us so early in our year here in
Washington.
Sincerely yours,

Dear John:
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the Tenth Anniversary Presidential
Gala of The President's Club, honoring President and Mrs. Bush. The dinner will be
held on October 23, 1991 at the Grand Hyatt Washington at 7:30 p.m., with a cocktail
reception beginning at 6:30 p.m.
This year marks the Tenth Anniversary of The President's Club which is comprised of
individuals who contribute at least $1,000 annually to the Republican National
Committee. Many of these donors were solid contributors to the Bush-Quayle '88
campaign, and have continued to support the President through this RNC program.
The funds generated by this club help finance the political appearances and activities of
President Bush, Vice President Quayle and other Party leaders on behalf of Republican
candidates at all levels, as well as our expanding candidate support programs.
This gala celebration is the highlight of a full day of briefings for our members. These
members are loyal supporters of the RNC and we want this event to be a memorable
one for them. Your attendance would help us do just that. Please have a member of
your staff contact Julie Gregg at (202) 863-8643 to advise us of your plans.
I sincerely hope you can join us.
