The purpose of this unified gathering is to promote the improvement of complementary liaison
of all agencies within the Department of Justice, including all related organizations through-
out the multi-levels of criminal justice, in order to encourage unity in thoughts and actions
toward the effective accomplishment of our common goals in our legal system.
This historical event is most appropriate in our Bicentennial year, as our invited guests will
include representatives of concerned organizations throughout the Government's legal system;
such as: President Ford, the Chief Justices of the Supreme Court, Special Courts and District
Courts throughout the U. S., U. S. attorneys from each state, Bar Association representatives
across the nation, local congressmen and senators, the heads of agencies throughout the De-
partment of Justice, local government officials, representatives of Deputy Marshals Locals
from each state, Military Chiefs of Staff, celebrities, news media and representatives from
other law-related organizations.

Trap, June 5, honoring Mrs. Jouett Shouse on her 80th
birthday. I have agreed to serve as Ticket Chairman and
would very much appreciate your joining me as Vice-Chairman

Dear Ambassador Bush: George:
On Thursday morning, January 8, 1976, ceremonies will
begin for the Neiman-Marcus Bicentennial Flag Festival,
which may well turn out to be the most exciting Bicen-
tennial activity in the state.
At 9:00 a.m., the Presentation of Colors will be made
by a Sam Houston Area Council Boy Scout Troop at Post
Oak & Westheimer. They will be assisted by the 75th
Maneuver Area Color Guard. The ceremony and program
will be followed by a short Americana Concert in con-
junction with an informal breakfast.
The first six large flags to be flown at the corner of
Westheimer and Post Oak will be the St. George Cross
Red Ensign, the British Union Flag (1606-1801), the
British Meteor Flag (Naval), the Star Spangled Banner,

Grand Union Flag and our current national flag. Each
month during 1976 another flag of historical importance
will replace one of the previous flags.
