PRICE1 PRESIDENTIAL REMARKS: PRICE FUNDRAISER OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA MONDAY, OCTOBER 29, 1990 2:55 P.M. Governor Bellmon, Senator Nichols. Thank you, Bill, for that introduction. Honored guests, ladies and gentlemen. Barbara and I appreciate your reception. We are delighted to be in this State of open hearts and open skies. // Last May, I came here to address the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. Today, I'm glad to be back in the Sooner State. ((Just to show you what Oklahoma means to me, I asked our most talented writer to work on these remarks. // So Millie was up half the night putting them together.) )) // I also want to say what a privilege it is to be here on behalf of "a man who'll make a difference -- he always has.' My friend -- and your next Governor. // Bill Price. // All of you know Bill's story. The son of doctor -- he worked his way through school. Went to Georgetown University -- a basketball power. Then, OU Law School -- a football power. // ((There's a trend emerging here: I'm told Bill also likes the Cincinnati Reds. )) // Finally, Bill became a U.S. attorney for western Oklahoma - - supporting law and order for all Oklahomans. // Don Nichols calls him "a pioneering leader for Oklahoma." My friend and mentor, Ronald Reagan, calls him "a guardian of the public good."
