RE:
Invitation
I would appreciate it if you could arrange for Paul McNeill to
come to the Christmas party with the rest of the Office of
Communications staff on December 12, 1990. Paul has joined our
staff since the list came to you for the invitations. At the
present time he is on "permanent loan" from the Office of
Correspondence until the hiring freeze is lifted.
Thank you for your help with this matter.

White House Christmas Party Invitations
Attached are the invitations for your staff to the White House
Christmas party. Since our phone lines are overburdened at this
time of year we would like to suggest that one person in your
office be responsible for gathering reponses. This information
could be phoned to us or sent by fax or memo.
For members of White House staff & their spouses we only need to
know that they are attending or regretting. (We so need spouse's
names.) For any single staff that are bringing a guest, we need
to have the guests' name and date of birth plus their social
security number. We need to know which staff member is bringing
them as a guest.
If there are any questions please phone our response line. The
number is X7787. Our FAX number is 6235.

LAURIE FIRESTONE, SOCIAL SECRETARY Ly
RE:
STAFF GUEST LISTS/DECEMBER CHRISTMAS PARTIES
The President and Mrs. Bush will be hosting six evening Christmas
parties this year, and I would like to begin assembling the guest
lists for them as soon as possible. I am requesting that each of
you submit to my office, the names, titles, marital status,
office addresses, and office telephone numbers, of those members
of your staff you believe should be included in these evening
receptions. I would like to receive your lists no later than
Friday, November 13, 1992.
While compiling your guest lists, please remember that we are
limited in the numbers we can invite; you may want to refer to
the list you submitted last year. (A copy is enclosed for your
reference.) In putting your lists together, you and your staff
should be aware this is your list of "suggested" guests. For
those senior staff who may share the supervision of various
offices, please cross-reference your lists to avoid duplication.
You should work closely with the Deputy Assistants on your staffs
to insure no one is omitted. Finally, I want to emphasize my
desire to work with each of you in extending these invitations in
as fairly a manner as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.

LAURIE FIRESTONE MELY SOCIAL SECRETARY, X7064
RE:
ENCLOSED INVITATIONS TO CHRISTMAS RECEPTIONS
Enclosed, are the invitations from the President and Mrs. Bush to
each of your staff members for this year's Christmas receptions.
Thank you for distributing these for us.
It would be extremely helpful if you designated someone in your
office to collect the RSVP's for your staff and submit them to me
in writing. (Because of the large number of guests being
invited, this will eliminate the frustration of trying to get
through our RSVP phone line.) Security (DOB AND 88#) is not
required for spouses of White House passholders, but their full,
legal name is needed. Security is required for unmarried guests
of passholders.
Because of the many guests the President and Mrs. Bush hope to
include in their last Christmas season at the White House, please
discourage your staff from making requests for additions or
special requests. The receptions begin at 6:30 p.m. and all
guests should arrive via the Visitors Center on East Executive
Avenue. (Parking is very limited on the avenue.) Thank you for
your cooperation, and we would appreciate receiving your list of
responses as soon as possible.

OFFICE DIRECTORS/EXECUTIVE OFFICE Laurie OF THE PRESIDENT
LAURIE FIRESTONE, SOCIAL SECRETARY
RE:
STAFF GUEST LISTS/DECEMBER CHRISTMAS PARTIES
The President and Mrs. Bush will be hosting six evening Christmas
parties this year. Because of the President's schedule, I would
like to begin assembling the guest lists for these parties as
soon as possible. I am requesting that each of you submit to my
office, the names, titles, marital status, office addresses, and
office telephone numbers, of those members of your staff you
believe should be included in these evening receptions. I would
like to receive your lists no later than Friday, November 15,
1991.
While compiling your guest lists, please remember that we are
limited in the numbers we can invite; you may want to refer to
the list you submitted last year. In putting your lists
together, remember that this is your list of "suggested" guests
and I would appreciate your reminding all of your staff of this.
For those senior staff who may share the supervision of various
offices, please cross-reference your lists to avoid duplication.
You should work closely with the Deputy Assistants on your staffs
to insure no one is omitted. Finally, I want to emphasize my
desire to work with each of you in extending these invitations in
as fairly a manner as possible.
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.
