The President began his day with a conference call to Prime Minister Robert Hawke of Australia. He then had his morning intelligence and national security briefings. Following these meetings, he participated in a signing ceremony for American Heart Month, met with his senior advisors, and made several telephone calls to family members. That evening, the President attended a fundraising event for Fife Symington.
