Dear Mr. Mulleneaux:
Thank you so much for your kind letter and for the
terrific photographs. I loved the one of the young
boys, and my portrait was certainly interesting.
I was pleased to learn that you were warmly received
by the people of Kuwait. By taking swift and decisive
action in behalf of that country, the United States
defended the ideal of self-determination for all
peoples. Of this, we can be proud -- as your
experiences in Kuwait verify.
It was also very gratifying to learn of your work with
the International Law Enforcement Olympics. Sporting
events promote goodwill and cooperation among nations,
and I wish you well in your efforts to develop
athletic competitions with other countries.
Best wishes.
Sincerely,
Gabl

I have enclosed a couple photos that I took in Kuwait. As I
visited the "Martyrs at Qoureen's House" I saw a group of
young boys across the street. They were watching as the
Prime Minister of Benin was leaving the house. I noticed
the back of one of the shirts on which you can see the
United States and Kuwait flags on either side. The words on
the back say "Kuwait Is Free, Thank You America", sorry I
couldn't get a close up, but you can see what feelings the
Kuwaiti people have for our country and our people.
The other photo is of a painting I came across as I was
shopping for a gift for my wife. I entered the Mukamis
Store in Safat and saw the painting of you wearing their
traditional clothing. I think they thought I was crazy as I
backed up in the store to photograph their wall, but I
thought you might enjoy seeing it.
I wish you all the best in the upcoming election and hope
you and Mrs. Bush prosper in good health and spirits in the
future. Thank you for all you have done for the American
people as well as the people of the world.
Sincerely,
Bary Mulleneaux,

LAW ENFORCEMENT
President George Bush
June 10, 1992
The White House

Dear Mr. President,
I am writing to you to inform you of a trip I recently made
to Kuwait. I was invited there by the Minister of the
Interior Sheikh Ahmed Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah to discuss police
sports between our countries for the future. While there I
had the honor of also meeting with the President of the
Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Ahmed Fahed Al-Sabah. It
was an incredible experience and I was treated more of a
V.I.P. than ever in my life due mainly to your actions in
the Gulf War.
I was very proud to be an American and to be in Kuwait to
represent the law enforcement officers of our country. I
can report to you that if the elections were taking place
in Kuwait you would not have trouble finding people who
remember what you have done. It appears that you have to
contend with the mind set of "Yes, that was great, but what
have you done for me today!"
This visit to Kuwait brought to mind a very real message to
me when I dealt with the people there, as well as the other
country representatives present. Some of the other visitors
were from Spain, Egypt, France, Switzerland and Italy. The
message was that you have been very good for the United -
States through the work you have done internationally. If
we as a people are to prosper and survive we must work
together on a worldwide basis. We can get tunnel vision and
worry about ourselves or we can work to improve the living
standards for all people.
